STAMPIN' UP! CAMOUFLAGE MASCULINE BIRTHDAY CARD

Another of my new stamps is Camouflage, a large background stamp.  I can see all sorts of possibilities with this in different colours.

My first play with this stamp saw me stamping in Misty Moonlight ink, on Seaside Spray card.  As soon as I saw the result, I had a clear flashback to my son having blue camouflage-print pyjamas when he was little ... more on that at the end of this post!

I did a bit more stamping with the Camouflage stamp, in Seaside Spray ink on Seaside Spray card, Soft Suede ink on Soft Suede card, and Misty Moonlight ink on Misty Moonlight card.  These pieces were cut with Stitched Stars dies, to lay over the background piece I'd created.

The sentiment I used is from A Grand Kid (another new stamp set!).  I love the font; it reminds me of 1970s cartoons.  After stamping it in Misty Moonlight ink on a piece of Whisper White card, I cut it out using a small Stitched Rectangle die.  I cut a piece of Soft Suede and a piece of Crumb Cake card, using the same die, and attached them to the bottom of the white rectangle after trimming them down.

Once I'd assembled all the components on the front of the card, I ran it through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine, using the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.

Isn't this a fun font?

Now, back to the photo memory.  When my eldest (who is now almost 25) was 3 1/2, he loved putting on makeup and wearing scrunchies and clips in his hair (now I'm aging myself, ha ha).  Here is a photo of Jack applying a little eyeshadow, after already masterfully applying lipstick.  Can you see how my stamping triggered this memory?
