Cathy Proctor is hosting this week's Colour Creations Showcase, which is all about
Pumpkin Pie - the longest-standing orange in Stampin' Up!'s range. I approached this week's challenge with some trepidation, as Pumpkin Pie is one of my least-used colours, and I had no clue what I'd do with it. Turns out, I rather like it! I was pleased with what I made, after all. If you go to
Cathy's blog, not only will you see her lovely creations, but you'll be able to find a comprehensive list of all the participants in this week's showcase. We would love it if you hopped around all our blogs, to get some inspiration, and we welcome any comment love you'd like to leave!
My card features the beautiful True Love Designer Series Paper, that is not only like beautiful colouring-in paper, but that contains some great black and white graphic backgrounds.
I coloured in some flowers, with Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, and Smoky Slate (for the flower centres) Stampin' Blends markers, and fussy-cut them. From another sheet of the True Love paper, I die-cut the "HAPPY", using the dies from the So Much Happy bundle. After adhering both of these elements to a panel of Basic White card, I ran the piece through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine, using the Subtle 3D embossing folder.
Here's a close up of the coloured flowers, and the subtle dry embossing:
The sentiments are all courtesy of the So Much Happy bundle. I stamped "so very" in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, on a strip of Basic White card, and flagged one end by inserting the strip into my Tailored Tag punch. The other part of the sentiment was stamped in Pumpkin Pie ink, on another Basic White card strip that was similarly flagged. Holiday Rhinestones add a little sparkle and shine to the card.
Listed below are all the products I used to make this card. If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.
I so enjoyed playing with Pumpkin Pie (who knew?!), that I created another card, which I will share with you tomorrow.
