JAI #331: STAMPIN' UP! SYMPATHY CARD

Nikki has suggested we  Just Add Wings to our papercraft project, for this week's Just Add Ink challenge.

Here's the colour combination I used on today's share:

My winged creature of choice is the gorgeous dragonfly from Stampin' Up!'s Awesomely Artistic stamp set.   I started off with a square of Watercolor Paper, onto which I stamped several dragonflies.  The dragonfly stamp was inked up in Tempting Turquoise and Bermuda Bay, and then Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant.   After stamping the dragonflies, I spritzed the paper with water, and let the ink run.  When the piece was dry, I silver-embossed a few butterflies right over the top of the watercolour images.

I hope you can see the gorgeous background paper I used on my card.  It's a piece of Fancy Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper, which is white, with dry-embossed leafy patterns.  Using my sponge brayer, I added Tempting Turquoise, Bermuda Bay, Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant inks  to the surface.  The pattern in the paper is subtle, but rather beautiful.

I have listed below all the Stampin' Up! products I used to make this card.  If you would like to buy them for yourself, you can visit my online store by simply clicking on one of the thumbnail images.

Make sure you check out the rest of the Design Team samples over at Just Add Ink.  We hope you are inspired to play along with us this week!

STAMPIN' UP! AWESOMELY ARTISTIC, IN BLUES

I've been having a little play with the gorgeous new Awesomely Artistic stamp set.  I used my biggest acrylic block, and mounted three stamps onto it, to make stamping of the images quick and easy.

After stamping the floral, dragonfly and splatter images on Very Vanilla card using Versamark ink, I sprinkled clear embossing powder over the panel, and used my Heat Tool to melt the embossing powder.  Then, using sponges, I applied Soft Sky, Lost Lagoon, and Sahara Sand ink to the card.  Such a simple technique, that gives beautiful (and different) results every time.

This set lends itself beautifully to collage stamping, and emboss-resist.  I can see myself trying out several different colour combinations.  Once I'd mounted the main panel onto a piece of Lost Lagoon card, I added a few Basic Pearls, and a stamped and die-cut sentiment atop a bit of ruffled lace ribbon.

The table below shows all of the Stampin' Up! products used to make this card; if you click on any of the thumbnail images, you'll be taken to my online store, where you can purchase them for yourself.

JAI #262: A COLOUR CHALLENGE, AND A SNEAK PEEK

This week's Just Add Ink challenge, courtesy of Di, is a beautiful colour challenge.  Take a look at the lovely colour combo we are using as a springboard for creativity, in making a card or other papercraft project:

In what is a highly unusual occurrence for me, I have used only ONE stamp set to make my card!

At the recent Stampin' Up! Inspire.Create.Share event, I attended my first Leadership session, and Manager's Reception.   We were lucky enough to receive a gorgeous stamp set, from the upcoming Stampin' Up! 2015-2016 Annual Catalogue.  The set is called Awesomely Artistic, and has a beautiful selection of stamps - I've used 5 of them on my card!  Whilst I can't link to this stamp set in my online store, as it's not available to purchase until 2nd June, I have listed below all the other products used to make my card.

Make sure you check out the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team's projects; they are beautiful!
