AWHT COLOUR CREATIONS SHOWCASE - WEEK 25: MELON MAMBO

For the first time in nearly 6 months, I missed the deadline for our team's weekly Colour Creations Showcase that went live last night.  This week's colour is Melon Mambo.  I wasn't able to get a card made and blogged in time to take part in the group share, but I have come up with a card today - so, all is not lost!

I'd stamped a background piece on some Melon Mambo card, but just wasn't sure what to do with it.  Using the beautiful Very Versailles stamp set, I first stamped the scripty image in Basic Gray ink.  I used Melon Mambo ink to stamp the leaves.  The Stamparatus came in handy for stamping both of these rather large images, both in the way of placement, and being able to re-stamp the leaves to get a darker impression than achieved at first.  I used a splotchy stamp from Forever Fern, and Basic Gray ink,  to fill in some gaps in the design.

The new Curvy Dies became one of the features of my card.  I cut the Melon Mambo stamped panel vertically, using one of the dies, and trimmed down the straight edge of the left-hand panel to allow for a bit of a gap between the curved edges.  To soften the Basic Gray card that forms the mat to my main panel, I cut a Square Vellum doily in half (vertically), and adhered the two pieces behind the curved die cut eges.

Butterfly Gala is the stamp set I used for the butterflies and the sentiment.  I stamped three of the butterflies in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, stamped Melon Mambo wings, and Basic Gray bodies.  I used Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends to add a bit more colour and interest to the butterflies.  Once finished, I painted Wink of Stella glimmer over the butterflies.  The other two small butterflies are silver-embossed on Whisper White card.

The larger butterly is raised up on Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, and in the next two photos you can see the Wink of Stella touches to the butterflies:

I have used Frosted & Clear Epoxy dots on the large butterfly, and the sentiment panel:

STAMPIN' UP! VERY VERSAILLES THINKING OF YOU WINDOW CARD

Very Versailles is a beautiful stamp set that sits, rather neglected, on my shelf.  For my card today, I've used this stamp set to create a little window scene.

I first stamped the script lightly in Crumb Cake ink, on Whisper White card.  After inking the stamp, I "stamped off" onto scrap paper twice, before making each impression on the card, to ensure it was nice and light.  Over the top of the script, I stamped the trailing leaves, in Pear Pizzazz ink.  Moving the stamp around a little, I stamped it three times over the panel.

To create the window, I used a couple of pieces of Thick Whisper White card.  I created the window frame with two Stitched Rectangle Dies, and adhered to the frame a Best Plaid Builder die cut.  Using liquid glue, I stuck the "window" down on the stamped piece.  The sweet little flowers, from Field of Flowers, were stamped in Terracotta Tile ink, punched out, and adhered to the frame and panes of the window.

My colour choices for this card were influenced by the Ornate Garden Designer Series Papers, and ribbon, that I used.  A few Whale of A Time sequins, in a lovely light green finish off the card.

Here's a closer view of the stamping, and the sweet little bows.  The stamp I used for the sentiment actually says "always thinking of you".  I used a Post-it Note to mask off the "always" before I inked the stamp in Versamark.  I removed the Post-it Note, then stamped onto a piece of Terracotta Tile card, and used white embossing powder and a heat tool to emboss it.  After cropping the sentiment with a Tasteful Labels die, I popped it up on Stampin' Dimensionals.

The top part of the Crumb Cake background panel has been embossed using one of the Meadow Moments embossing folders.

Listed below are all the products I used to make this card.  They are available to purchase from my online store, which is open 24/7 to Australian residents.

I hope you enjoy looking at this card as much as I enjoyed making it!
