STAMPIN' UP! CLEAN & SIMPLE "LOVE YOU" CARD

After creating with Poppy Parade for last week's Colour Creations blog hop, I was inspired to use this lovely vibrant red on another card.

Today I'm sharing with you a clean and simple card with a few heart elements on it.  The gorgeous background paper is from the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper pack.  I have used a Dotty Hearts embossing folder on the middle Basic White panel, and the lovely stitched hearts were cut using a Bouquet of Love die (from the die set that comes with the hybrid embossing folder).

I am rather in love with the die-cut shape containing the sentiment, I have to say!  I stamped the sentiment (from the Flowering Tulips stamp set) in Poppy Parade ink on Basic White card, then cut it out using a Beautiful Shapes die.  I love that the die-cut piece is an irregular shape, and has an embossed border around the inside edge.

The bow was made with Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding, that I coloured with my Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends marker.

Any die with stitched detail is automatically on my list of loves, and these hearts are no exception!

STAMPIN' UP! BUTTERFLIES THANK YOU CARD IN POPPY PARADE

This week's Colour Creations blog hop is all about Poppy Parade, which is an orangey-red in Stampin' Up!'s colour range.

My card shows how well some of our Annual Catalogue products go with those offered in the Mini Catalogue.

I started off my card design by repeatedly stamping the butterfly image, from Amazing Silhouettes, in Poppy Parade ink on Basic White card.  I then used the "splatter" stamp from Beauty of Friendship, to add further detail to my stamped piece.  Inside each butterfly space, I stamped the butterfly from Positive Thoughts, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I also used this ink to stamp some more background splatters.

Using Brilliant Wings Dies, I cut a vellum butterfly.  Before die-cutting it, I added Adhesive Sheet to the reverse of the vellum; this effectively meant I created a sticker, and no adhesive shows through the vellum now that the backing paper has been peeled off.  A few Classic Matte Dots were added to the butterfly.  I coloured some white baker's twine with my Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends marker.  Two pieces of twine were laid across the top left corner of my card front, and another doubled length of twine used to create a bow, that I adhered with a rolled-up glue dot.

The sentiment was created with word dies that form part of the Amazing Silhouettes bundle (along with the stamp set used to create my butterfly background).  I attached Foam Adhesive Sheet to the reverse side of some Ombre Specialty Paper, and cut "thanks" and "you".  I used Paper Snips to trim the "s" off "thanks".  Using Basic White card (with Adhesive Sheet on the back), I cut the bottom layer of both words, and matted the Poppy Parade sentiment on top.  You can see the lovely shimmer on the Ombre Specialty Paper in this photo:

STAMPIN' UP! FRIENDLY HELLO POOL PARTY CARD

Tonight's blog hop is shining a light on Pool Party, a pale greeny-blue in Stampin' Up!'s colour range.

The paper in the Friendly Hello bundle, one of the free products* offered during Sale-a-Bration (running until 16th March in Australia and New Zealand), has some beautiful Pool Party designs.  One of them forms the background of my card.  I have used the flower stamps from the free bundle, also, stamping them in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Basic White card, and colouring them with with Stampin' Blends before fussy-cutting them.

I have used a few new-to-me products on my card.  The sentiment, stamped in Versamark ink on Basic Black card, then heat-embossed in white, is from the Lucky You stamp set.  I used a Tasteful Labels Die to cut it out.  The sweet "ticket" border in Basic Black was cut using a die from the Sports Event Dies.  I white heat-embossed hearts, from the Lucky You stamp set, on the strip of tickets, then adhered it above a Pool Party scalloped border cut using Scalloped Contours Dies.

Tucked behind the Pool Party flowers are some foliage pieces, created with the Flowers of Home Dies, and Basic Black, Basic White, Pool Party card, and vellum.  Added to the flower centres are Elegant Faceted Gems.  I first coloured three of the flower centres with the Dark Pool Party Stampin Blends marker, and the other two with the Dark Basic Black Stampin' Blends marker.
