HOC WEEK 2: STAMPIN' UP! NESTS OF WINTER CHRISTMAS CARDS

 

Every Monday night for the next few months, a group of us will be showcasing Stampin' Up! products to use in your Christmas crafting.

Tonight I have a couple of simple Christmas cards to share.  I have used the Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper, and a few other co-ordinating products, that will be available in the upcoming Mini Catalogue that goes live in a few weeks. I have created two cards that would be easy to make multiples of (if you're so inclined!).

CARD #1:

Starting with a Real Red card base, I added a Garden Green card layer.  The bird-patterned paper is embossed with the Birch Wood 3D embossing folder.

Here's a closer look at the embossed detail:

For the sentiment panel I cut a strip of one of the other patterned papers in the Nests of Winter pack.  It's a birch pattern, to complement the embossed pattern on the top paper.  I sponged the edges of both DSPs with Gray Granite ink, and adhered them to the Garden Green panel.  A thin strip of Real Red card was added to the join between the papers.

On a piece of Gray Granite card, I stamped the bough, and cut it out with the co-ordinating die, using the Winterly Tree Tops bundle.  I coloured the image with Shaded Spruce and Real Red Stampin' Blends markers, and my Garden Green Stampin' Write Marker.

The sentiment, from Trucking Along, was stamped directly onto the Designer Series Paper, using Real Red ink.  I added a few Earth Tones Shimmer Gems to complete my card front.

Inside the card I added a Basic White card panel, decorated with a bird die-cut from another piece of Nests of Winter DSP.

CARD #2:

This card is my favourite of the two.  I'm not as drawn to the red and green colour combination, as I am to neutrals with splashes of those two colours.

I have used the same two patterned papers as on my first card, but in a landscape orientation.  This time the papers are matted on a Gray Granite panel, and a Thick Basic White card base.

The ribbon dividing the two patterned papers is White Diagonal Trim, that I have coloured using my Dark Real Red Stampin' Blends Marker.

The sentiment was created with two stamps from Greetings of the Season - one stamped in Garden Green ink, and the other in Real Red ink.

Earth Tones Shimmer Gems finish off this card, too.

STAMPIN' UP! TRUCKING ALONG THANK YOU CARD

I love the O Holy Night Designer Series Paper, from Stampin' Up!, for masculine cards.  The rich earthy tones, and the patterns, are just beautiful.  Here's the second card I made with these papers, and the Trucking Along bundle:

I layered strips of five different patterned papers, from the O Holy Night DSP pack, onto a piece of Crumb Cake card.  I really like the inclusion of Night of Navy on this card.  

After stamping the sentiment on Basic White card, I cut it (and the slightly larger circle of navy starry paper) out using Stylish Shapes Dies.  A few Ombre Matte Decorative Dots underline the sentiment.

The truck outline and the tyres were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, on Basic White card.  I used Pebbled Path ink to stamp the solid truck.  Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots were added to the wheels, and Copper Clay Textured Ribbon tied around the card front.

STAMPIN' UP! TRUCKING ALONG BIRTHDAY CARD IN EARTHY TONES

I think the O Holy Night Designer Series Paper, from Stampin' Up!, is great for masculine cards.  It is part of the Christmas range, but is really versatile.

Here's how I combined a couple of the patterned papers with the Trucking Along bundle:

The sentiment, courtesy of the Biggest Wish stamp set, was stamped in Copper Clay and Pebbled Path inks, on Basic White card.  I cropped it using a Deckled Rectangles die, and added a few Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots after I'd glued the sentiment panel onto a starry-patterned piece of the DSP.

Pebbled Path Textured Ribbon was laid across the bottom of the Copper Clay paper.  The DSP is layered onto Pebbled Path and Crumb Cake panels, and a Thick Basic White card base.  I sponged around the edges of the DSPs with Crumb Cake ink.

On the paper that looks like sandy hills, I stamped some clouds in white craft ink, and a "track" in Pebbled Path ink to ground the truck.

The outline of the truck  was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink (as were the tyres) on Basic White card, and for the body of the truck I used Copper Clay ink.  I used my Light Gray Granite Stampin' Blends marker to colour the wheel hubs, and added black brads to the centres.  On a separate piece of Basic White card, I stamped the presents in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  After colouring them with Stampin' Blends markers in Crumb Cake, Copper Clay and Pebbled Path, I fussy-cut them and adhered them (with liquid glue) behind the tray of the truck.  The truck is raised up on Stampin' Dimensionals.
