DD#1: STAMPIN' UP!'S GROWING GREEN - SECOND VERSION!

Earlier today, in this post, I shared my excitement about the new Dynamic Duos challenge blog, started up by the lovely and multi-talented challenge site queen, Lesley Croghan.  Well, while I was playing around with ideas for my entry in the challenge, I started off white-embossing my images on Crumb Cake card.  I abandoned that idea, and went with a clean white slate.

Tonight I revisited my 'rejected' piece, and decided to work on it a bit.  The result - it was salvaged, and I've come up with a second card for the Dynamic Duos Challenge #1 :)  I promise this will be my last blog post for the day!

Here are the challenge colours (which can be combined with neutrals, such as white, black, Crumb Cake):

.... and here is the very different card I made:

Stamps: Growing Green, Field Flowers
Card: Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Ink: Versamark inkpad, Pool Party stampin' pad and marker, Crumb Cake stampin' pad, Lucky Limeade marker
Other: White embossing powder, Framed Tulips embossing folder, Neutrals brads, Mat Pack and paper piercing tool, White gel pen, Decorative Label punch, Lucky Limeade baker's twine, sponge dauber

I've been a bit busy in my craft room today, so make sure you visit again tomorrow - I have more to share with you!

DYNAMIC DUOS #1: STAMPIN' UP!'S GROWING GREEN

I am very excited to play along with a new challenge on the block - Dynamic Duos.  I do love a colour challenge, so I can see this site becoming a firm favourite.

Here's the very first challenge - a beautiful fresh colour combination:

I dug out my very neglected "Growing Green" stamp set, incorporated a bit of paper-piecing, and this is what I came up with:

Stamps: Growing Green, Happiest Birthday Wishes
Card: Pool Party, Whisper White
DSP: Pool Party Patterns Designer Series Paper
Ink: Lucky Limeade stampin' pad, Pool Party stampin' pad and marker, Versamark inkpad
Other: Lucky Limeade designer brads, Pool Party ruffled ribbon, white embossing powder, corner rounder punch, Simply Scored tool, mini glue dots, stampin' dimensionals

SC 0025/12: PINK PIROUETTE & EARLY ESPRESSO

It's been a while since I've played along with Sunny Challenges.    I really enjoyed spending time in my craft room today; this is my second card for the day - woohoo!  The challenge this week is to use Stampin' Up!'s yummy Pink Pirouette and Early Espresso together, using this sketch as the basis for your project:

I have used Very Vanilla as the accompanying neutral; here's what I came up with:

I stamped the maidenhair fern image, from Growing Green, onto the long Early Espresso panel, and the two Pink Pirouette panels (as well as on the sentiment oval).  I wanted it to be subtle, and am really pleased with the outcome - although it's hardly visible in the photo!  Can you see the stamping in this closer shot?:

Do you like the desserty look of the paper flower??  I started off with a flower made with Very Vanilla cardstock.  It was sprayed lightly with Frost White shimmer mist (shimmer paint missed with Isocol), then spritzed with Pink Pirouette and Early Espresso markers (using my Color Spritzer tool).  To finish off, I lightly sponged the edges of the outer petals with Pink Pirouette ink.  A glimmer brad fastens all the layers together.

Stamps: Growing Green, Happiest Birthday Wishes
Card: Pink Pirouette smooth and textured, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso
Ink: Pink Pirouette stampin' pad and marker, Early Espresso stampin' pad and marker
Other: Frost White shimmer paint mixed with Isocol, Basics Glimmer Brad, Basic Pearls, sponge daubers, Nestabilities, Color Spritzer tool, Very Vanilla seam binding, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, sticky strip

COLOR LAB CHALLENGE #34

I've made a couple of cards today, for colour challenges.  Unlike my earlier attempt at a challenge, I'm hoping I haven't missed the deadline for the Color Lab Challenge!  The idea is to use the following colours on a papercraft project:

My card turned out WAY differently to the plan I had in my head, but I am really pleased with it.  I coloured the fern using a blender pen and my Pear Pizzazz stampin' pad (I'm loving that technique at the moment ....  colouring in was my first love!).  Just in case your straining eyes can't detect the use of Chocolate Chip on this card, I stamped the sentiment in that colour!

Stamps: Growing Green, Teeny Tiny Sentiments, A to Z
Card: Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White
DSP: Greenhouse Garden Designer Series Paper
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Chocolate Chip and Daffodil Delight stampin' pads, Versamark inkpad
Other: Word Window Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes punch, Daffodil Delight brad, blender pen, Stampin' sponge, stampin' dimensional, sponge dauber

INKSPIRATIONS CHALLENGE #56

I think this might be a personal record - three blog posts in one day!  I'm enjoying an 'at home' day today, just pottering around, trying to catch up with washing and, oh, some stamping and blogging :)

I'd planned to take part in Makeesha's Inkspirations Challenge this week, but thought I'd missed the deadline.  I normally work only on Thursdays, so when I checked out the challenge last night (after returning from a day at work), I thought I had left it too late.  Oh dear; seems the old brain's not working quite as well as it might!  Thankfully, it's only Wednesday today, so I had time to make something using this colour combination:

Here's the card I came up with:

Stamps: Growing Green, Perfect Punches, En Francais
Card: Baja Breeze, Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, Baja Breeze and Cherry Cobbler stampin' pads, Cherry Cobbler marker
Other: Modern Label punch, Basic Black satin ribbon, Flower Fusion Too felt flowers (retired), Basic Black brads, Scallop Trim border punch, blender pen, sponge daubers, stampin' dimensionals, mini glue dot

"GROWING GREEN" IN CONCORD CRUSH

Yesterday I took delivery of the gorgeous new "Growing Green" stamp set. I have no self-restraint; I'd told myself I wouldn't buy it until October ... couldn't even hold off another week!  I knew I wanted to use Crumb Cake with the maidenhair fern image, but this morning when I went into my craft room I was inspired to use Concord Crush - the new, striking, bluish-purple colour in Stampin' Up!'s range.

I made a couple of pretty simple cards, but I like them, so thought I'd share.

Stamps: Growing Green, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Card: Whisper White, Crumb Cake
DSP: Daffodil Delight Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack, Concord Crush Patterns DSP (from Hostess Pack)
Ink: Concord Crush and Daffodil Delight stampin' pads
Other: Concord Crush poly-stitched ribbon, Word Window punch, Modern Label punch, mini glue dot, sponge dauber

Stamps: Growing Green, Oval All, En Francais
Card: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Concord Crush
Ink: Crumb Cake and Concord Crush stampin' pads
Other: Beautiful Wings embosslits, Large Oval punch, Scallop Oval punch, sponge dauber, stampin' dimensionals

Okey dokes, that's it from me for today.  Make sure you pop back tomorrow, to check out the blog hop I am participating in!
