STAMPIN' UP! SENDING LOVE CARD FEATURING PARAKEET PARTY

This week's Colour Creations blog hop is focussing on Parakeet Party, a bright lime green that is one of the 2022-2024 In Colors in Stampin' Up!'s range.

I had a lot of fun creating this card with the new Sending Love bundle, and this colour combination:

The super-cute cloud background is patterned paper, from the gorgeous Sunny Days Designer Series Paper pack - one of the FREE products you get to choose if you spend $90+ on Stampin' Up! products before the end of February.

I stamped the letterbox on the post in Basic Gray ink, and coloured it using Stampin' Blends markers - Parakeet Party, Pool Party and Smoky Slate for the letterbox, and Smoky Slate for the post.  I also used the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends to lighten some areas.

After stamping the envelope in Basic Gray ink, I drew along the lines with my Light Pool Party Stampin' Blends marker.  A little heart, stamped in Sweet Sorbet ink and die-cut, was added.

Parakeet Party Baker's Twine was used to make a bow, to adorn the post of the letterbox.

The circular sentiment was first stamped in Pool Party ink, directly on the cloud-patterned paper.  I stamped it again in Basic Gray ink, on a piece of Parakeet Party DSP, and used the smallest Deckled Circles Die to crop it.  After sponging the edges of this little circle with Parakeet Party ink, I glued it over the top of the Pool Party sentiment.

The bird was stamped in Basic Gray ink, and coloured with Pool Party Stampin' Blends.  I dotted some colour onto the beak with a Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends marker, but in hindsight should have used my Stampin' Write marker (with a finer tip).  My eyesight is not good enough to see, until I enlarged the photo, that I had blobbed the ink outside the lines!

The grass strip was die-cut from Parakeet Party card, and the bush from Granny Apple Green card.  I love all the dies in the Sending Love Dies collection ... so much fun, for adding details.  I added a few Parakeet Party pearls to my card, to finish off (because, as you may know, I find it very difficult not to add gems of some description!).

Next up on tonight's blog hop is Rachel Palmieri:

STAMPIN' UP! TRUSTY TOOLS BIRTHDAY CARD FEATURING TARTAN FOIL DSP

The Tartan Foil Specialty Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! has been languishing, unloved, in my stash for a while.  I decided to use all three colours - Copper Clay, Lost Lagoon, and Gray Granite - with the great new Trusty Tools Dies to make a birthday card.

The toolbox was die-cut from Basic Black card, and the paper behind the tools and toolbox is from the Nature's Sweetness Designer Series Paper pack (in the January - April Mini Catalogue).

Here's a close-up of the (somewhat patchy, now that I see it magnified! LOL) white heat-embossed sentiment on the toolbox.  I stamped the sentiment, from Best Family Ever, on a scrap of Basic Black card, then cropped it using a Sending Die.  After gluing the sentiment label onto the die-cut toolbox, I added some screws, bolts and a nut cut from the Gray Granite Tartan Foil paper.

Here's a closer look at all the tools I cut from the different Tartan Foil Specialty DSP:

STAMPIN' UP! TRUSTY TOOLS BIRTHDAY CARD

The Stampin' Up! January - April Mini Catalogue and Sale-A-Bration brochure (running only to the end of February), are packed full of great new products.  The Trusty Tools bundle, of stamps and dies, was a must-have for me.  During Sale-A-Bration, if you spend $90+ on catalogue products, you can earn free products, including the awesome Trusty Toolbox Designer Series Papers that co-ordinate with the Trusty Tools bundle.

The card I have to share today showcases how beautifully the Trusty Tools Dies cut out images from some of the patterned papers.  The sentiment is the only stamping on my card ... I've let the papers and dies do all the "talking".

The background paper, in Poppy Parade and Gray Granite, gives the look of a standing toolbox with drawers (my son has one just like this!).  I stamped the sentiment, from Biggest Wish, in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

How cute are the nut, bolt and screw, die-cut from Silver Adhesive-Backed Glimmer Paper?

The bottom half of the card front is two of the other papers from the Trusty Toolbox DSP pack.  I sponged the outer edges of all the background papers with Gray Granite ink, before matting them on a Poppy Parade card panel.

The tools, and measuring tape, were die-cut from one of the sheets of Trusty Toolbox Designer Series Paper.  Just for fun, I added a glimmery nut to the side of the measuring tape.

Just a simple card from me today, to show how beautifully the dies and Designer Series Paper go together!

I'll have another Trusty Tools card to share with you tomorrow.

Listed below are the products I used to make my card.  NB:  You can't purchase the Trusty Toolbox Designer Series Paper (the price shown is indicative of value only).  It can only be earned for free, with a $90+ product purchase before the end of February.  If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.
