STAMPIN' UP! SENDING LOVE CARD FEATURING PARAKEET PARTY

This week's Colour Creations blog hop is focussing on Parakeet Party, a bright lime green that is one of the 2022-2024 In Colors in Stampin' Up!'s range.

I had a lot of fun creating this card with the new Sending Love bundle, and this colour combination:

The super-cute cloud background is patterned paper, from the gorgeous Sunny Days Designer Series Paper pack - one of the FREE products you get to choose if you spend $90+ on Stampin' Up! products before the end of February.

I stamped the letterbox on the post in Basic Gray ink, and coloured it using Stampin' Blends markers - Parakeet Party, Pool Party and Smoky Slate for the letterbox, and Smoky Slate for the post.  I also used the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends to lighten some areas.

After stamping the envelope in Basic Gray ink, I drew along the lines with my Light Pool Party Stampin' Blends marker.  A little heart, stamped in Sweet Sorbet ink and die-cut, was added.

Parakeet Party Baker's Twine was used to make a bow, to adorn the post of the letterbox.

The circular sentiment was first stamped in Pool Party ink, directly on the cloud-patterned paper.  I stamped it again in Basic Gray ink, on a piece of Parakeet Party DSP, and used the smallest Deckled Circles Die to crop it.  After sponging the edges of this little circle with Parakeet Party ink, I glued it over the top of the Pool Party sentiment.

The bird was stamped in Basic Gray ink, and coloured with Pool Party Stampin' Blends.  I dotted some colour onto the beak with a Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends marker, but in hindsight should have used my Stampin' Write marker (with a finer tip).  My eyesight is not good enough to see, until I enlarged the photo, that I had blobbed the ink outside the lines!

The grass strip was die-cut from Parakeet Party card, and the bush from Granny Apple Green card.  I love all the dies in the Sending Love Dies collection ... so much fun, for adding details.  I added a few Parakeet Party pearls to my card, to finish off (because, as you may know, I find it very difficult not to add gems of some description!).

Next up on tonight's blog hop is Rachel Palmieri:
