STAMPIN' UP! BEAUTIFUL PEACOCK BIRTHDAY CARD

The card I am sharing today was the first creation in my new craft room, made with new Sale-A-Bration freebies, using the Stamparatus that I was lucky enough to order well in advance of general release!

Sale-A-Bration is Stampin' Up!'s biggest promotion every year, running for almost 3 months.  With every purchase of catalogue product (from either/both the Annual Catalogue and new Occasions Catalogue) to the value of $90, you get to choose a free product from the Sale-A-Bration brochure.  This year, we also have some second-tier offerings:  a couple of higher-value items that you can get for free with a $180 product purchase.

The free products I've used on this card are the Beautiful Peacock stamp set, and Bermuda Bay ribbon from the Shimmer Ribbon Pack.

The Stamparatus is Stampin' Up!'s fantastic new stamp-positioning tool, to be used with photopolymer and clear mount stamps.  I particularly love it for the ease with which I can correct a poorly-stamped image.  If I haven't inked a stamp up enough, and the impression is faint, I can easily re-ink the stamp and stamp it directly over the original image, to give perfect colour saturation.  Love that!  The Stamparatus will be available in the next Annual Catalogue, in June, but as I was part of a leaders' group that was involved in the development of the tool, I was lucky enough to get one early.

I have listed below the products used to make this card, which is for a special friend's birthday.  If you live in Australia, and click on any of the thumbnail images, you'll be taken direct to my online store.  Now is a GREAT time to shop for Stampin' Up! products, with the release of the Occasions Catalogue (53 pages of more gorgeous new products), and the opportunity to earn free products during Sale-A-Bration.

JAI #315 : A SKETCH CHALLENGE, AND A MASCULINE BIRTHDAY CARD

Tina has come up with a sketch, for our challenge at Just Add Ink this week:

I used the sketch for my brother's birthday card ... and, as I was rather organised in having this card made early for the challenge (even if late for my brother's special day!), I've used a few products that retired from Stampin' Up!'s range at the end of May.   The Farmers' Market Designer Series Paper, white Jute Ribbon, and Circles framelits are now all retired.

The colours on my card are:

Here is the card I made for the younger of my two brothers who celebrate May birthdays:

Don't you just love the new Duet Banner punch?  There's a danger you will be seeing this on most of my cards in the coming year!  I have listed below the current Stampin' Up! products used on this card.  If you'd like to buy them. just click on one of the thumbnail images below, to be taken to my online store.

Make sure you check out the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team's gorgeous creations this week.

JAI #311: STAMPIN' UP! PETITE PETALS IN SWEET SUGARPLUM

This week's challenge at Just Add Ink, courtesy of Nikki, is to Just Add ... Masking.

I have used this technique in its simplest form.  I die-cut a Deco Label (these framelits retire at the end of the month .. boo hoo!), and used temporary adhesive to secure a strip of cardstock across the middle.  With the mask in place, I stamped various flowers from my neglected Petite Petals stamp set, using Sweet Sugarplum (one of the beautiful new In Colors, being released 1st June), Rich Razzleberry and Basic Black inks.  I removed the strip of card, and stamped the sentiment in the masked-off area.

The spotty background paper is from the super-cute Playful Palette Designer Series Paper stack, being released on 1st June.  I stamped and punched out a few Sweet Sugarplum flowers, adhered them to the outer edge of the die-cut panel, and painted the petals with clear Wink of Stella (which you should be able to see in the pic at the top of my post).

I can't link to the not-yet-released products in my online store yet (add them to your wishlist for 1st June!), but I have listed below the current Stampin' Up! products I used.

Make sure you check out the gorgeous creations of the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team.
