STAMPIN' UP! FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS BIRTHDAY CARD IN COASTAL CABANA

This week my future daughter-in-law celebrated a birthday, and I made her a card using the dreamcatcher stamps and dies from the new Stampin' Up! range.  I had her in mind when I first saw these products, and I just love them.

I wanted strong saturation of colour in the watercoloured background, but was a bit disappointed with how green it threw, compared to the cardstock colour.  Perhaps I'll go for subtle next time!

STAMPIN' UP! FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS BIRTHDAY CARD

One of my (rather numerous) "must haves" from the new Stampin' Up! catalogue was the Follow Your Dreams stamp set, bundled with the co-ordinating Chase Your Dreams framelits.  Love, love, love!

As a starting point, I decided to loosely CASE the pink card sample on p. 54 of the catalogue.  My card morphed into something a bit different, using several stamp sets and different embellishments.  I'm very pleased with how it turned out; a special card for a beautiful 17-year-old.

Here are a couple of close-ups of some details on the card.  Firstly, the panel I embossed with the new Subtle embossing folder:

I hope I've inspired you to create something with these lovely new products.  I am loving the new purples in our revamped colour range, too.  Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape will be getting a good workout in my craft room!
