STAMPIN' UP! WILDFLOWER BIRTHDAY BALLOON CARD

Today I'm sharing another idea for a simple birthday card, using a die-cut from the beautiful Wildflower Birthday Specialty Designer Series Paper pack.

I cut a piece of the Pool Party DSP with gold scallops, and matted it on a layer of Pool Party card (that I sponged around the edges, with Pool Party ink).

Using Liquid Glue, I layered the balloon die-cut over my sentiment label, and added a few embellishments.

From Peach Pie, Pretty in Pink and Pool Party card scraps, I die-cut little flowers using Birthday Celebration Dies.  I adhered them to balloons of the same colour, and added Party Dots to the flower centres.  All this matching stuff makes my heart happy!

The sentiment, from Hooray for Surprises, was stamped in Pool Party ink on Basic White card.  I used one of the fab new Mixed Labels Dies to cut it out.  Isn't the edging detail lovely?

Once I'd stuck down the sentiment label, and the balloons, I added a bow made from Gold 1/8" Trim (using a rolled up glue dot).  Some gold sequins finish off my card.

STAMPIN' UP! PERENNIAL LAVENDER BIRTHDAY CARD FEATURING PRETTY PEACOCK

The colour we're featuring this week, in our alphabetical-ordered tour through Stampin' Up!'s colour range, is Pretty Peacock.  This beautiful rich green features in the gorgeous Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper, which forms the focus of my card.

I have used three of the patterned papers from the Perennial Lavender DSP pack.  I sponged the edges of all three pieces with Crumb Cake ink, before assembling the card.

The leafy paper (how beautiful?!) was matted on a layer of Pretty Peacock card.  I then added the Pretty Peacock paper, and floral paper.

Using Stampin' Blends markers in Highland Heather and Pretty Peacock, I coloured two Paper Butterfly Accents.  My photography doesn't show it, but the butterflies have a shimmer, thanks to Wink of Stella brushed over the top of the colours.  I added Pretty Peacock Foiled Gems (three on one butterfly, two on the other) to their bodies.

Before adhering all the layers to the Crumb Cake card base, I used a Notes of Nature Die to add some interest to the top of the leafy panel.

Pretty Peacock & Gold Metallic Ribbon was wrapped around the middle of the card front, and a bow added.

I stamped the sentiment, from Hooray For Surprises, in Crumb Cake ink on Basic White card, and cut it out using a Something Fancy Die.  A couple of larger Pretty Peacock Foiled Gems adorn the sentiment label.

Inside the card, I added a Basic White card layer, with a strip of the leafy DSP cut with the same Notes of Nature Die used on the card front.

STAMPIN' UP! PAINTED LAVENDER FRIENDSHIP CARD

The new Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper is possibly my favourite paper EVER, from Stampin' Up!  Orchid Oasis is one of the colours listed as being included in the designs, so I made a card for my personal challenge to use Orchid Oasis.  I don't think it is the right purple to use with these papers, but I don't hate how it came out.

I cut a panel of one of the gorgeous patterned papers, and sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink before matting it on a piece of Basic White card.  These pieces were then layered onto a piece of Orchid Oasis card, and Crumb Cake card base.

I used an Everyday Details Die to cut three circles - one each from a couple of the Crumb Cake paper designs, and one from Basic White card.  Using a sponge dauber, I inked the edges of each circle.

The top right circle was decorated with a cluster of floral "bits" - an Orchid Oasis die-cut sprig, a Crumb Cake die-cut sprig, and another die-cut piece that had first been stamped in Orchid Oasis ink directly onto the same DSP as used in the bottom circle. (I had die-cut another Crumb Cake piece, so I snipped off the stem of the stamped flowers, and glued the flowers onto a plain Crumb Cake stem.)

The stems of the three sprigs are anchored by the bottom die-cut circle, and a bow made from Orchid Oasis Baker's Twine.  I white heat-embossed a little butterfly on Orchid Oasis card, and added that to the circle's edge.

Looking at it now, given my time over I would probably colour the middle stem a little darker, with a Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends marker ... and I'd add a gem or three to the butterfly.

On the Basic White die-cut circle, I stamped a couple of the floral images from Painted Lavender, using Crumb Cake and Fresh Freesia inks.  I "stamped off" each time, onto scrap paper, to make the inked images a little less than full strength.  Finally, I stamped the sentiment, from Hooray For Surprises, over the top in Orchid Oasis ink.

Inside the card, I added a Basic White card panel, decorated with a vertical strip of the same paper that's on the front of the card.
