STAMPIN' UP! GREATEST JOURNEY BIRTHDAY CARD

Amongst the many products retiring from Stampin' Up!'s range on Monday is the Greatest Journey bundle.  I bought these stamps and dies with masculine cards in mind, then found I couldn't create for many months after surgery (boy, these have been challenging times!).  Determined to use them at least once, I have created a birthday card with the gorgeous He's The Man Designer Series Paper, and my favourite retiring green, Soft Succulent.

I had lots of fun playing with inks and different patterns when creating this card.  I've used two Soft Succulent papers for the background - He's The Man for the top section, and a strip of striped Soft Succulent DSP (on which I stamped grass, in first and second generation stamping, using Soft Succulent ink).  After sponging around the edges of the papers with Soft Succulent ink, I matted them on a panel of Early Espresso card.

Included in the He's The Man DSP pack are some die-cut pieces that make great additions to cards.  I used one of the Sahara Sand strips, with a torn-looking edge.  In Sahara Sand and Soft Succulent ink, I stamped some starry and dotty detail.  I then used Early Espresso ink, and my Stamparatus, to stamp the sentiment, from A Grand Kid.  Sahara Sand ink was sponged around the edges of this sentiment strip, before I adhered it across the entire width of my card front.

The Dark Soft Succulent Stampin' Blends marker allowed me to custom-colour an Enamel Sticker Icon.  I also added some Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots.

The die-cut tent was created with Early Espresso card, and a piece of He's The Man DSP that I sponged with Sahara Sand ink.

Two Early Espresso photo corners (die-cuts from the He's The Man DSP pack) finished off my card design.

STAMPIN' UP! BIRTHDAY CARD FEATURING HE'S THE MAN DESIGNER SERIES PAPER

This week my youngest son turned 22.  He loves camping with his mates, so I thought the He's The Man DSP was ideal for his card this year.  I used the camping-patterned paper, and a die-cut Combi van from the sheet of die-cuts in the pack.

I love the playful font of the sentiment, from A Grand Kid.  I stamped it in Early Espresso ink on a piece of He's The Man DSP, then cut it out using an All That Die.  I sponged Sahara Sand ink around the edges of the sentiment label.  Rustic Metallic Dots are a great embellishment for masculine cards, don't you think?

I also used Rustic Metallic Dots as little "wheel caps" on the van.  On the strip of DSP that serves as  road, I stamped (in Sahara Sand ink) a couple of small images from Beauty of Friendship, to ground the tyres.

Some die cuts that complement the whole theme of the card are a couple of trees, cut from Soft Succulent and Sahara Sand card, using Majestic Mountain Dies, and an Early Espresso "mountain range" made with Basic Borders Dies.

STAMPIN' UP! BLESSINGS OF HOME RETIREMENT CARD

In recent months I've had need for a few cards to congratulate friends on their retirement, so I decided to make another to add to my stash.  I have paired the beautiful Blessings of Home bundle with some of the more subdued designs from the Abstract Beauty Designer Series Paper pack.  I'm loving the blues and greens together.

I stamped the large floral spray on Basic White card, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The flowers were coloured with Balmy Blue and Night of Navy (Light) Stampin' Blends markers, with So Saffron Light Stampin' Blends used for the centres.  I coloured the leaves with Just Jade Stampin' Blends, and cut out the stamped image with the handy co-ordinating die.

The small, Happy Retirement!, sentiment is from the Many Happenings stamp set.  It was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and cut out using the Messages Die.  A  Blue Adhesive-Backed Gem was added to each end.

The Dark Balmy Blue Stampin' Blends marker worked beautifully for custom-colouring some White Glittered Organdy Ribbon.  I stamped Congratulations (from A Grand Kid) in Just Jade ink on Basic White card, and cropped it using a Stitched Rectangles die.
