STAMPIN' UP! CHRISTMAS BAUBLE CARD IN SOFT SUCCULENT

Several months ago, I made what I thought was plenty of Christmas cards for the year ... but now that we are a week out from Christmas, I find myself desperately short.  Oh dear; I didn't plan that well.  Of course now I don't have time (or the energy) to create more, so must apologise to many dear friends that there will be no card this year. 😞

Here is one I made back in June or July, that I realised I haven't shared yet.  It features a die-cut bauble, created with the beautiful Delicate Baubles Dies.

The card base is Soft Succulent, one of my favourite greens for Christmas crafting this year.  To a mat of Basic White card, I adhered two patterned papers from the Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper pack.

The ornament base layer is Soft Succulent card, embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.  The detailed die-cut layer is Evening Evergreen; I attached Adhesive Sheet to the back of the cardstock before cutting, so the die-cut piece effectively became a sticker.  I added some In Color Jewels to the "stars" on the bauble, as well as elsewhere on the card.  The bow from which the bauble hangs was cut from Gold Metallic Paper.

I stamped the sentiment, from the Sparkle of the Season stamp set, in Evening Evergreen ink.  After cutting it out using the Messages Die, I used Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up over the "string" above the bauble.

Listed below are all the products I used to make this card.  If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.

Tomorrow I will be sharing another bauble card, using the same simple "ingredients" as today's, but with a few variations.

STAMPIN' UP! HEART OF CHRISTMAS - WEEK 6

Tonight I'm taking part in a weekly blog hop, with some of my Stampin' Up! team mates and friends, showcasing Stampin' Up!'s Christmas products.

The card I am sharing with you this week resulted from a challenge I issued to myself.  Stampin' Up! has released a rather lush Silver Foil Specialty Pack of papers/card.  I was disappointed, when I opened the pack, to find two of the three sheets of foil paper have distinctly purple tones.  I wanted silver!

I have incorporated all three of the "silver" sheets on my card, to convince myself I can still use all the tones, despite my initial disappointment.  The panel of Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper has been attached to a mat of the lighter of the two purple metallic papers.

My photography skills, when it comes to metallic/reflective surfaces, leave a bit to be desired!  Here's a closer shot of the tree, which was cut from the lighter purple sheet, and the tinsel from the darker purple.  The tiny baubles on the tree are die-cut from the lightest (and only true silver) of the three sheets.  I have used the new Christmas Tree Dies.  Truly, the card looks distinctly purple in real life.

On a strip of the darkest foil, I stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink, and heat-embossed it using white embossing powder and my heat tool.  It's a bit tricky to get a crisp image on metallic card stock, using a photopolymer stamp ... I can now see it slipped a little.  The sentiment stamp is from the Sparkle of the Season stamp set, and I cut it out using the versatile Messages Die.

This photo gives you a closer look at the beautiful new White Glittered Organdy Ribbon, too.

I added some Subtle Shimmer Sequins to my card, to complement the metallic elements, and the silver shiny detail in the background paper:
