STAMPIN' UP! COTTAGE ROSE BIRTHDAY CARD #2

I really enjoyed colouring the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper, for the card I shared yesterday.  From the same sheet of paper, I cut an edge piece (and fussy-cut around the floral design), and coloured it, to create another card.

This is what I came up with, using the same colourways, but different elements and composition:

Onto my Crumb Cake card base, I added a Very Vanilla card layer that I had embossed using the Gingham embossing folder.  I then adhered the coloured floral piece, just in from the edges of the Very Vanilla panel.

I added Champagne Rhinestones to a few of the flower centres, and in a couple of places on the Gingham embossed background.

Using my Stamparatus, I stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede ink (stamped twice, to achieve good depth of colour) on a scrap of Petal Pink card.  After cutting it out with a Sending Die, I raised it up on Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

The bow was created with Petal Pink Polyester Ribbon.  It's beautiful, but as you can see doesn't match the orangey tones of the Petal Pink ink and card.  I think it is a good complement to the small pink flowers, coloured with Light Natural Tones Stampin' Blends.

STAMPIN' UP! COTTAGE ROSE BIRTHDAY CARD #1

Stampin' Up!'s new Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper, and Cottage Rose bundle (stamp set and co-ordinating dies), make my heart sing!  What's not to love about papers that combine neutrals, big open florals, a textured look, AND "note paper" designs?

My first creation with these products combines three of the DSP designs.  I started off fussy-cutting one of the large floral sprays from this piece of paper:

The paper is Very Vanilla, with black designs, and subtle splatters in the background.  After cutting out one of the gorgeous floral clusters, I coloured the large flowers using Petal Pink Stampin' Blends markers.  The smaller flowers were coloured with the beautiful Light Natural Tones Stampin' Blends, and the leaves and other foliage with Crumb Cake and Soft Suede Stampin' Blends.

I die-cut a piece of the note paper sheet, using a Deckled Rectangles Die, and sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink.  This paper was layered onto a piece of the gorgeous Crumb Cake floral paper, also sponged around the edges with Crumb Cake ink.  I included a layer of Petal Pink card on the Thick Very Vanilla card base, to tie in with the large flowers.

Here's a closer look at the Designer Series Papers.  You can see I tucked some Crumb Cake leafy die-cuts behind the main coloured piece:

The sentiment was stamped in Soft Suede ink on a scrap of the "note paper".  After cutting it out with a Sending Die, I sponged around the edges with Crumb Cake ink, and used Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to raise it up on the Deckled Rectangle.  Elegant Faceted Gems were my choice of embellishment, to finish off the card.

I had so much fun playing with all this prettiness, I made a second card.  I'll share that card tomorrow.
