HEART OF CHRISTMAS WEEK 4: STAMPIN' UP! SPRUCED UP WHIMSICAL WOODLAND CARD

Tonight some of my Stampin' Up! friends and I are sharing Christmas projects with you.  Every Monday night until late November we will inspire you to use Stampin' Up! products on your Christmas cards and other projects.

The colours from Santa Express Designer Series Paper were the starting point of my card.  I embossed a piece of Mint Macaron card, using the Whimsical Woodland 3D embossing folder, before rubbing Whisper White ink over the surface using a sponge dauber.  This embossed piece is matted on a slightly larger Mint Macaron panel.

I used a small piece of the "Ho Ho Ho" paper to decorate the front of my card.  I cut it into three strips, and adhered it to the embossed card front:

Two die-cut tree outlines were laid over some of the embossed trees.  I added gorgeous Iridescent Rhinestones to give the look of baubles:

Around the front of the card, I wrapped a length of Petal Pink ribbon.  A bow from the same ribbon was added next to the sentiment.  The sentiment, stamped in Mint Macaron ink, is from the Spruced Up bundle.  It was cut out using a Harvest Die, and attached using glue dots.

Next up on this week's blog hop is Kathryn Ruddick.   If you click on the button below, you'll be taken to her blog:

STAMPIN' UP! SPRUCED UP SANTA EXPRESS CHRISTMAS CARD

While I had the supplies out to make my first Christmas card of the year, shared for last night's Heart of Christmas blog hop, I created a second card.

The dies in the Spruced Up bundle are super-versatile.  I love that when cutting out the trees, you get two die cuts in one.  The tree dies are designed to cut around the co-ordinating stamped image, as well as giving an outline die-cut.  I've used one solid, and two outlines, on my card:

Here's a closer look at the die-cut trees, and the two designs of Santa Express DSP I used on my card.  I had a few presents left over from the stamping I did for last night's card, so popped them at the base of my stamped tree.

The sentiment, stamped in Mint Macaron ink on Basic White card, was cut out using a Labels Aglow Die (which you will be seeing a LOT on my cards!).  I love the sparkle of the Iridescent Rhinestones on this paper:

HEART OF CHRISTMAS WEEK 1: SPRUCED UP TREE CARD

I'm very excited to be taking part in the Heart of Christmas weekly blog hops, every Monday until late November.  Stampin' Up! has lots of beautiful new Christmas products, in the July - December Mini Catalogue.  My card features the new Spruced Up bundle.  The colour scheme I've used comes from the Santa's Express Designer Series Paper.

I had a lot of fun making this Christmas card, with a modern, playful, look.  The trees were stamped in Mint Macaron ink on Basic White card.  The presents were stamped in Bermuda Bay, Petal Pink, and Poppy Parade, and were (along with the trees) cut out with co-ordinating dies.  I've used another of the super-cute dies in the set - the string of Christmas lights.  Because it's a fairly delicate die-cut, I put Adhesive Sheet on a piece of Basic White card before cutting two strings of lights.  I used Stampin' Blends markers, in Dark Petal Pink, Dark Bermuda Bay and Dark Poppy Parade, to colour the bulbs.  Taking the backing paper off the Adhesive Sheet meant it was easy and clean to adhere the lights to the piece of Basic White card I'd cut with a border from Blossoming Happiness Dies.

The dotty Poppy Parade paper I've used is from the Brights 6"x6" DSP pack.

Isn't this sentiment label, cut from the Labels Aglow Dies, just beautiful?  The sentiment is stamped in Poppy Parade ink.

Next up on tonight's blog hop is Michele Taylor.  If you click on the button below, you'll be taken to her blog:
