HOC WEEK 8: STAMPIN' UP! FRAGRANT FOREST GOLD & WHITE CHRISTMAS CARD

My Christmas share for this week is a card made with Stampin' Up!'s beautiful Fragrant Forest background stamp.

I stamped the main image in Versamark ink on Basic White card, and sprinkled gold embossing powder over the ink before melting it with my heat tool.

This panel was matted on a Gold Foil layer, around which I wrapped some Real Red & Gold Dotted Ribbon.  A bow made from the same ribbon was attched with glue dots.

The sentiment, from Brightest Glow, was stamped in Real Red ink on Basic White card, and cut out using a Labels Aglow Die.

These photos better show the shine and texture of the gold embossing, that I didn't capture so well in my main photograph.  Before attaching the decorated panels to my card base, I added a layer of Basic White card that I'd embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder.

The finishing touch to my card was some red gems from the Loose Holly Gems & Sequins pack.

HOC WEEK 4: STAMPIN' UP! FRAGRANT FOREST CHRISTMAS CARD

It's Monday night, and time for a group of us (all Stampin' Up! demonstrators in Australia) to share inspiration for using Stampin' Up! products in your Christmas crafting.

As Christmas falls at the height of Summer in the Southern Hemisphere, I don't tend to make snowy or Wintery Christmas cards.   I am, however, always drawn to any tree stamps and dies, so I sometimes make exceptions!  I LOVE the new Fragrant Forest large background stamp, that is coming out on 6th September in the new Stampin' Up! Mini Catalogue.  After embossing it in silver on Basic White card, I decided it would be used for one of my "exception" Christmas cards. :)

Onto a card base of Thick Basic White card, I added a layer of Silver Foil card.  The Balmy Blue dotty (snowy?) paper is from the A Walk In The Forest Designer Series Paper pack.  Before adhering the embossed tree panel to this paper, I added a scalloped border to the embossed piece.  I used a Scalloped Contours Die to cut a rectangle using Balmy Blue Textured Shimmer Paper, then trimmed an edge to use as my border.

The sentiment, from the Merriest Trees stamp set (also to be released on 6th September), was stamped in Balmy Blue ink on Basic White card.  I stamped it twice to give good depth of colour, then cropped it using a Labels Aglow Die.

I am in love with the Adhesive-Backed Glitter Sequins I've used on this card ... you'll be seeing LOTS more of those on my cards in future!  The bow was made from Balmy Blue Sparkle Ribbon, which is another new product coming out on 6th September.  It's a bit velvety, and bulky, so I used Tear & Tape Adhesive to stick it on my card.

This photo shows the shimmer and sparkle a bit better:

The silver and white tree theme is carried over to the inside of my card.  I have used a panel of Naturally Gilded Designer Series Paper (an Online Exclusive), and a Scalloped Contours die-cut piece on which to write my message.

Next up on tonight's blog hop is Theresa Gerrard.  If you click on the image below, you'll be taken to her blog:
