HOC WEEK 4: STAMPIN' UP! FRAGRANT FOREST CHRISTMAS CARD

It's Monday night, and time for a group of us (all Stampin' Up! demonstrators in Australia) to share inspiration for using Stampin' Up! products in your Christmas crafting.

As Christmas falls at the height of Summer in the Southern Hemisphere, I don't tend to make snowy or Wintery Christmas cards.   I am, however, always drawn to any tree stamps and dies, so I sometimes make exceptions!  I LOVE the new Fragrant Forest large background stamp, that is coming out on 6th September in the new Stampin' Up! Mini Catalogue.  After embossing it in silver on Basic White card, I decided it would be used for one of my "exception" Christmas cards. :)

Onto a card base of Thick Basic White card, I added a layer of Silver Foil card.  The Balmy Blue dotty (snowy?) paper is from the A Walk In The Forest Designer Series Paper pack.  Before adhering the embossed tree panel to this paper, I added a scalloped border to the embossed piece.  I used a Scalloped Contours Die to cut a rectangle using Balmy Blue Textured Shimmer Paper, then trimmed an edge to use as my border.

The sentiment, from the Merriest Trees stamp set (also to be released on 6th September), was stamped in Balmy Blue ink on Basic White card.  I stamped it twice to give good depth of colour, then cropped it using a Labels Aglow Die.

I am in love with the Adhesive-Backed Glitter Sequins I've used on this card ... you'll be seeing LOTS more of those on my cards in future!  The bow was made from Balmy Blue Sparkle Ribbon, which is another new product coming out on 6th September.  It's a bit velvety, and bulky, so I used Tear & Tape Adhesive to stick it on my card.

This photo shows the shimmer and sparkle a bit better:

The silver and white tree theme is carried over to the inside of my card.  I have used a panel of Naturally Gilded Designer Series Paper (an Online Exclusive), and a Scalloped Contours die-cut piece on which to write my message.

Listed below are the current Stampin' Up! products I used to make my card.  As all the lovely new products don't go "live" until 6th September, I can't yet link to them in my online store.  If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.

Oh I'm glad you took the close up photo of the forest stamp as you can really see the beautiful silver embossing in much better detail. The Balmy Blue paper definitely looks like falling snow flakes and the addition of that gorgeous paper on the inside is perfect.

  7. We can justify anything when it is so pretty Christine. I am a real sucker for trees at Christmas too. Your card is just so pretty. It wouldn't be a Christine card without a lovely bow.
