The Stampin' Up! colour we are showcasing in this week's blog hop is Blueberry Bushel. I chose the very cute Bird's Eye View stamp set, to show off this lovely mid (Royal?) blue.
On a piece of Basic White card, I stamped the bird, in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped the image again on a piece of starry paper from the Bright & Beautiful DSP pack, and cut out just the lower part of the bird's body. After colouring the bird (on the Basic White card) using Stampin' Blends markers, I glued the DSP portion down. I used the Color Lifter pen in flicking motions to add a bit of a feathery look to my little fellow.
The branch and leaves were also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and coloured using Stampin' Blends markers. I cut out this main piece using a Radiating Stitches Die. Using the same die, I cut a small piece of Lemon Lime Twist paper from the Stargazing DSP pack. This was glued to the bottom quarter of my main panel. The sentiment, from the Hope You Know stamp set, was stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink on Basic White card, and punched out using the Double Oval Punch.
The tiny flowers were cut from Pumpkin Pie card, using Sentimental Park Dies. To their centres, I added Festive Pearls that I'd coloured with my Dark Blueberry Bushel Stampin' Blends marker.
After matting my art piece on a slightly larger layer of Lemon Lime Twist card, I stuck the layers down onto a large Blueberry Bushel piece, cut with the largest Radiating Stitches Die. Because it's not quite long enough for our Australian/New Zealand cards, I added a Blueberry Bushel border to the bottom. I first cut a scalloped border, using one of the Scalloped Contours Dies, and embossed some additional texture into it using a Geometric Patterns embossing folder. These are the types of little details I love!
