HOC WEEK 3: STAMPIN' UP! CHRISTMAS CLASSICS CARD IN CLASSIC CHRISTMAS COLOURS

Welcome to Week 3 of the Heart of Christmas blog hops, in which a group of us (all Stampin' Up! demonstrators in Australia) share ideas for using Stampin' Up! products on your Christmas projects.

The card I have made features the beautiful Christmas Classics bundle that is in the Mini Catalogue going live on 6th September.  I have used Cherry Cobbler, Shaded Spruce, Distressed Gold and Basic White to enhance the "classic" Christmas look!

I started off by die-cutting the main piece from Basic White card.  I used Stampin' Blends markers to colour the foliage and berries.  The holly leaves are Dark Shaded Spruce, and the other leaves Light Shaded Spruce.  The berries were coloured using Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends.

After cutting a second piece from Cherry Cobbler card, I trimmed off all the foliage, and laid the sentiment "mat" part across the other die-cut.  I stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink on Basic White card, and adhered that on top.

I die-cut some large holly leaves from Shaded Spruce card, and Distressed Gold Specialty Paper, and added them to the main die-cut piece.  There are a couple of Distressed Gold twiggy bits, that are actually the pieces from the centre of the two large gold leaves.

A few berries were stamped (in Cherry Cobbler ink) and die cut, and added to the sentiment.

Here's a closer look at a few details, including the embossed background, the gorgeous Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper and Distressed Gold Specialty Paper, Festive Pearls, and the large holly leaves:

Listed below are the current Stampin' Up! products I used on my card.  As the new goodies aren't available until 6th September (although you can buy them if you sign up as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator before then!), I can't yet link to them in my online store.  If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.

  1. I love your Christmas Classics card Christine. Your use of classical Christmas colours is delightful with this bundle. The embossed music on a white background is brilliant. The strip of Cherry Cobbler DSP, cardstock and sentiment across the card give a gorgeous base for the die cut arrangement. xxx

  7. Another genius. I love that we can learn so much from each other through these hops. I loved Kate's cutting trick for her red berries and now here you are Christine with a fabulous colouring trick. I will be trying this one too. The addition of the distressed gold really elevates the design and the musical EF is now on the list for my next order. You are naughty. :)

  8. Hey, what a great card, Christine. Colouring with blends who have been easier than trying to glue extra die cut pieces over the top :) I love the distressed gold accents and the trick using the twigs (never any waste)! The stamped berries are a great addition too.
