STAMPIN' UP! BABY BOY CARD

Last month my niece gave birth to a beautiful big boy named Riley.  He is the fourth child under 6 in their family, so busy times in their household!  Not sure what my excuse is (I have been so not busy, during lockdown), but I have only just managed to get a card made, to congratulate the family on bub's arrival.

I really enjoyed making this card a couple of months ago, so have used the same colours, stamps, and other elements ... but made the card personalised.

The two blue paper panels, with a subtle stripe, are from the Artisty Blooms Designer Series Paper pack, which is on special until the end of October.

I created the "blocks" on which Riley's name sits by inking up my Clear Block A, directly onto an inkpad (as if it was a stamp).  I've used Cinnamon Cider, Misty Moonlight and Seaside Spray inks for this step.  After tapping the block onto an inkpad, I stamped it on a scrap piece of paper (to lighten the ink's intensity), spritzed the block with water, then "stamped" it onto a piece of Whisper White card.  Once the ink was dry, I used the smallest square die from Stitched Shapes to cut out each piece.

Using the Playful Alphabet Dies, and a piece of Artistry Blooms Designer Series Paper (with Foam Adhesive Sheet attached to the reverse side), I cut out the letters of the name.  After adhering the letters to the squares, I applied Shimmery Crystal Effects to each letter, and left it to dry overnight.  You can see the shine in this photo:

I added a few Blue Adhesive-Backed Gems to finish the card.  Look how pretty, and faceted, they are:

The products I used to make this card are listed below, and are available to purchase from my online store.  If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.

I will have another card to share with you tonight, as it's Colour Creations Showcase night.  Every Wednesday, for 50 weeks, I am joining a group of friends to share ideas on using Stampin' Up!'s colours.  We are already 21 weeks in to working our way alphabetically through all the colours, and I am loving that it stretches me out of my comfort zone!  I hope you'll come back to see what I have made.
