STAMPIN' UP! POSITIVE THOUGHTS FLORAL SPRAY CARD

I really enjoyed playing with the Positive Thoughts stamp set as I did on yesterday's card, inking up the images and spritzing with water before stamping onto watercolor paper.  I have created a card in different colours for today - this time, the fern fronds are in Mint Macaron ink, and the flowers in Highland Heather and Balmy Blue inks.  I applied ink directly to the stamps with inkpads, then spritzed the stamps with water before making the impressions on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.  When the inks were dry, I used Stampin' Blends markers (in the dark tone of the ink colours), to add subtle splatters to the flowers and foliage, before die-cutting the images.

Here's a closer look at the flowers, the centres of which have been embellished with Iridescent Pearls:

The sentiment, from the Field of Flowers stamp set, was stamped in Highland Heather ink on Thick Very Vanilla card, and cut out using a Tasteful Labels die.  I mounted it on Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.  The Very Vanilla card panel behind the leaves and flowers has been embossed with one of the Meadow Moments embossing folders.  My bow is made from the lovely soft "bandage ribbon" (that's my pet name for it), from the Forever Greenery Trim pack.

Listed below are all the products I used to make this card.  They are available to purchase from my online store, which is open 24/7 to Australian residents.

This weekend is our first out of a lengthy lockdown here in Melbourne, so there is a bit of socialising to be done!  I have lunch with a friend lined up, before shopping for some lighting and tiles that I have been unable to source over the last few months.  This "return to normal" is going to take a little getting used to, but it is very welcome.

STAMPIN' UP! IN GOOD TASTE POSITIVE THOUGHTS CARD

Tomorrow the month-long sale on several of Stampin' Up!'s paper packs will end.  One of the fabulous packs on offer is the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper.  If you don't already own it, don't miss the chance to purchase it at 15% off!

I have used a woodgrain-patterned piece, and a pink "carpet"-looking piece, on today's card.  The pink in this pack is supposedly Rococo Rose, but I find this paper is much closer in colour to Blushing Bride, so that is the pink of my choice.  Using my Positive Thoughts stamp set, I inked up the larger flower in Blushing Bride ink, spritzed the stamp with water, then stamped it on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.  I did this three times, getting a slightly different look each time.  When the ink was dry, I flicked the brush end of my Dark Rococo Rose Stampin' Blends marker against the inside of the marker lid, to create splatters over the stamped flowers.  I used the same process for the fern fronds, inking them in Crumb Cake ink, then spritzing with water before stamping onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.  I added splatters to those pieces with my Dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends marker.

To create the flower centres, I inked up the larger flower stamp with Crumb Cake ink, spritzed it, then stamped onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.  I repeated this process three times, aiming for some "open", uninked space, as I like the irregular look.  Once the ink was dry, I added some splatters with the Dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends marker, and die-cut the pieces with the small flower die.  A tiny pearl was added to each flower centre.  The middle flower is raised up on Stampin' Dimensionals.

A detail that doesn't show up too clearly in the photographs, is the Square Vellum Doily that I placed behind the fern fronds.  It fits nicely on the pink paper panel, and adds a subtle "landing place" for the floral arrangement.

The sentiment is from Gorgeous Posies, and is stamped on a strip of Very Vanilla card, in Blushing Bride ink.  I used my Stamparatus, to allow me to overstamp the image a few times, so it was nice and dark.

All of the products used to make this card are listed below, and are available to purchase from my online store.  If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, just click on any of the thumbnail images below to get to my store.
