STAMPIN' UP! HEART OF CHRISTMAS - WEEK 7

 

Seven weeks in, to sharing Christmas creations with Stampin' Up! products, I still have lots of Christmas cards yet to share (and still in my head!).

I recently had a birthday.  I would say I "celebrated a birthday", but I was home alone, in lockdown, so it was somewhat less exciting than it might have been.  Dear friends and family made sure I still had a special day.  One of my birthday presents was a few new Stampin' Up! goodies, including a pack of 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum.  This specialty paper is beautiful!  I've used it, along with the lovely Christmas Trees Dies, on the two cards I'm sharing tonight. 

I have brought out my favourite Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper for these cards.  The feature colours are Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent and Sahara Sand.  The Words of Cheer bundle has again come in handy, for the sentiments.  Here's the first card:

For this card, I cut three Christmas trees ... one each in Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent Shimmer Vellum, and one in Soft Succulent card.  On the Soft Succulent cardstock tree (the middle of the three), I repeatedly stamped a pattern from the Tasteful Touches stamp set, in Soft Succulent ink, and sponged the edges of the tree in the same coloured ink.  Check out the gorgeous shimmer on the vellum trees:

The die-cut portion of the sentiment is in Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen card.  I stamped "Christmas" in Evening Evergreen ink, on a piece of Sahara Sand card, and cropped it using the Messages Die.  After sponging the edges with Sahara Sand ink, I added three Matte Decorative Dots, and a Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon bow to finish off.

My second card features a Soft Succulent vellum tree, and an Evening Evergreen cardstock tree that has been stamped and sponged in the same way as on my first card (but in the darker of the two greens).  

On this card, I really like how you can see the patterned paper through the vellum tree:

The die cut "happy" on this card is in Soft Succulent and Sahara Sand.  I sponged parts of the Sahara Sand "twiggy" mat piece with Sahara Sand ink, to give a bit of contrast against the background paper.  It probably would look better if I'd uniformly sponged all around that piece before sticking on the Soft Succulent word, but I didn't think of that ahead of time!

Again, I stamped the sentiment in Evening Evergreen ink (this time on a scrap of the DSP used on my card front), and cut it out using the Messages Die.  This versatile die is particularly handy for cropping small sentiments.  A couple of Brushed Metallic Dots were added next to the sentiment:
