It's time for a group of us, from the wider Art With Heart team in Australia, to share our ideas for using Stampin' Up! products for Christmas cards. We take part in a blog hop every Monday night, until mid-December, so you'll get lots of inspiration for your own projects!
The card I am sharing tonight features my favourite bundle of products from the July - December Mini Catalogue: Merriest Moments. I have also used Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper (from the Annual Catalogue), which is my favourite Christmas paper this year.
The following close-up photos show the beautiful detail in the stamped and die-cut images, as well as the pattern from the embossing folder, which I've used only at the sides of the focal panel on my card front. I stamped the sentiment, in Sahara Sand ink, on a piece of Basic White card, which I then cut out using an Ornate Layers Die. I inserted each end of this horizontal rectangle in the embossing folder, and selectively embossed only those parts of the card.
On another piece of Basic White card, I stamped the poinsettias and holly berries in Cherry Cobbler ink, the holly leaves in Evening Evergreen ink, and the flower centres in Sahara Sand ink. All of these pieces were cut out using co-ordinating dies. I added Wonderful Gems in a few spots on the decorated panel.
Inside the Sahara Sand card, I adhered a Basic White piece of card, to provide a "cleaner" writing surface. Some stamped and die-cut holly berries and leaves were added, to decorate a corner:

Oh, how lovely! The subtle dry-embossing on the sentiment panel is fabulous, and the holly and poinsettias frame the sentiment perfectly.
ReplyDeleteOh wow I love the partial embossing on the panel ends on this card Christine. And this set is really growing on me and how versatile it is.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Christine, what a clever idea to use the embossing folder just on the edges,
ReplyDeleteLovely card, Christine, such a gorgeous Christmas card using traditional colours. I was trying work out what that embossing folder was, until you explained how you selectively embossed the ends. Very clever. Those wonderful gems finish it off nicely ;)
ReplyDeleteMerriest moments stamp set coordinates with Tidings of Christmas very well. I didn't think they would match so well but it looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteOh Christine - a lovely card. I love the partial embossing with the Merriest Moments EF. I’m waiting on the Merriest Moments bundle to arrive - and now I have the challenge to use it differently. Your selection of DSP and colours work so well with this bundle. Beautiful xxx
ReplyDeleteChristine you've paired this DSP and the Merriest Moments bundle together so beautifully. This is a fabulous card in gorgeous traditional colours.
ReplyDeleteOh such a wonderful idea. Thanks so much for sharing Christine. The partial embossing looks fabulous on that large ornate die cut.
ReplyDeleteReally lovely, Christine. Embossing the sides of the focal panel really allows for the die cuts and sentiment to have centre stage.
ReplyDeleteLove how you have chosen to only emboss the side of the middle panel. So soft and subtle.all the elements are lovely including down to the Ornate die cut. Just love all the little details
