Delicate Dahlias is one of the beautiful Sale-A-Bration offerings, that you can earn for free during August and September. This lovely stamp set can be chosen as a freebie, if you spend $180 or more on Stampin' Up! product.
My inspiration for today's card came from the glorious colours in the Blackberry Beauty Designer Series Paper pack. Firstly, I wouldn't have thought to pair Rich Razzleberry with Polished Pink - but, boy, do those colours together pack a punch! I also wouldn't have thought to add Cinnamon Cider to pink and purple ... but these colours really make me happy.
I adhered two of the patterned papers to a panel of Rich Razzleberry card. I wrapped around this panel, at the join of the two papers, some Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Ribbon. These layers were then added to a Thick Very Vanilla card base.
The outlines of the two dahlias were stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink, on Very Vanilla card. Using my Stamparatus, I then lined up (not so well, on one of the flowers!) the solid dahlia stamp, and filled in the petals in Polished Pink ink. On another piece of Very Vanilla card, I stamped a few of the leaf clusters in Early Espresso ink, and Cinnamon Cider ink. My Cinnamon Cider ink pad is very juicy, so the textural detail on the stamped image is a bit lost ... next time I will try to remember to add ink to the stamp with a stamp dauber, rather than tapping the stamp onto the inkpad.
I fussy cut the flowers and leaves. I love that the blooms are of a size that fill much of a card front, without much else needed.
Listed below are all the products I used to make this card. I hope these bold, bright, colours lift your spirits as much as they do mine!
