STAMPIN' UP! FEELS LIKE HOME CARD - COASTAL CABANA

 

Tonight's Colour Creations blog hop is all about Coastal Cabana, a bright, cheery colour that I don't often use.  Creating with it for this week's blog hop was a lot of fun.

On my craft table, I had a stamped image from the Feels Like Home stamp set.  I stamped it, in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Basic White card, when I made my first card with this set a couple of weeks ago.  I decided to give it a colourful treatment with Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens.  This lovely stamp set is a freebie, for August and September ... it can be earned by placing an order for $90 or more of Stampin' Up! product.

After colouring the stamped image, I cut it out using a Seasonal Labels Die.  The background on my card is a piece of Coastal Cabana card, embossed with a Thanks & Hello embossing folder.  These folders are narrow, so I had to emboss the piece of card twice to get full coverage.  In the top right-hand corner of my card is a Pierced Blooms flower, die cut from Coastal Cabana and Basic Black card.  A Holiday Rhinestone provides some blingy happiness!

The sentiment was created with the Sending Hugs bundle.  The "sending you" was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, on a scrap of Basic White card, then cut out using one of the tiny label dies from the bundle.  I adhered some Foam Adhesive Sheet to the back of a piece of Coastal Cabana Designer Series Paper before die-cutting the "HUGS".  This made it easy to cleanly apply the letters to my card front.  

A couple of smaller Coastal Cabana rhinestones, and a delightfully sparkly White Glittered Organdy bow, add some cheery finishing touches.

Despite this being a colour I am not normally drawn to, I love how bright and cheery it is ... and hope this card will make the recipient feel just that.
