Tonight's Colour Creations blog hop is all about Coastal Cabana, a bright, cheery colour that I don't often use. Creating with it for this week's blog hop was a lot of fun.
On my craft table, I had a stamped image from the Feels Like Home stamp set. I stamped it, in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Basic White card, when I made my first card with this set a couple of weeks ago. I decided to give it a colourful treatment with Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pens. This lovely stamp set is a freebie, for August and September ... it can be earned by placing an order for $90 or more of Stampin' Up! product.
The sentiment was created with the Sending Hugs bundle. The "sending you" was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, on a scrap of Basic White card, then cut out using one of the tiny label dies from the bundle. I adhered some Foam Adhesive Sheet to the back of a piece of Coastal Cabana Designer Series Paper before die-cutting the "HUGS". This made it easy to cleanly apply the letters to my card front.
A couple of smaller Coastal Cabana rhinestones, and a delightfully sparkly White Glittered Organdy bow, add some cheery finishing touches.
Despite this being a colour I am not normally drawn to, I love how bright and cheery it is ... and hope this card will make the recipient feel just that.

Christine your colouring is simply sensational! I love how you "framed" your sweet scene by cutting it out with the Seasonal Labels Die and I will never again use my Holiday Rhinestone jewels without thinking of the "blingy happiness" they will bring to my card, LOL!
ReplyDeleteOh Christine I have been trying to resist these 2 stamp sets and you are making it really really hard now! Gorgeous colouring and I love how you have die cut out your scene! Really lovely layout and love the blingy happiness we all need that!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet scene you've created Christine! I love the embossing folder you've used in the background, a very friendly one for sending hugs to someone.
ReplyDeleteWow, a gorgeous card Christine. I so love your water-colouring with the water-colour pencils. It is framed delightfully and the background embossing sets it off so well. Also love how you have created the sentiment. It is all beautiful. Xxx
ReplyDeleteOh Christine, your blending with the watercolour pencils is gorgeous and the HUGS on the foam sheets looks amazing. The Seasonal Label die is a great choice for cutting out your stamped image!
ReplyDeleteOh my your colouring is just beautiful. For a colour that you are not normally drawn to you've created a beautiful serene setting in your card. As always you tie fabulous bows!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a sweet card, Christine. I love the bold colour of the door with the softer colours around it. Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI am not drawn to this stamp set but this is the best card I have seen created with yet! I think it is because you have used bright, vibrant and happy colours and it looks amazing. You may have just changed my. mind about it.
ReplyDeleteWow. Where do I start? I love how you used the embossing folder, greeting and large letters together. They convey a real sense of friendship and support. Then there is the colouring of your image. I am in awe as it is beautiful. Cutting it out with that large label was a super idea and then your sweet stitched bloom and jewel are a perfect finishing touch.
ReplyDeleteOh Christine, I just love this card. It’s so sweet and pretty.
