STAMPIN' UP! FLORAL SQUARES BRIGHT GLIMMER CARD

I was reminded, when creating my card for last night's Colour Creations blog hop, just how much my mood can be lifted by playing with colour.  Being in lockdown can be extremely draining, and deflating; being able to create in my craft room is a real sanity-saver!

Another of my recent birthday gifts was the sweet Floral Squares Dies.  Here is the first card I have created with them:

I started out thinking I was going to create a black and white card with these dies.  Well, that soon changed, didn't it?!  I first cut out one each of the frames from the dotty paper (black dots on a white background), from the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper pack.  I was going to mat them on black, but it looked too dark, so I chose a background panel of Basic White card, embossed with a Checks & Dots embossing folder.

A bright (ha ha) idea came to me, to use Rainbow Glimmer Paper for the flowers.  Each frame, as you can see, has a different floral design inside.  I cut the flowers from different coloured scraps I had of  Rainbow Glimmer Paper.  They looked so pretty, I decided to also cut foliage from the Rainbow Glimmer Paper; Granny Apple Green sparkles just look so happy, don't they?!  I snipped the leaves and stems so I could paper-piece them inside the dotty paper frames.  After I'd adhered the foliage, I added my beautiful bright flowers.  Here's a close-up of a few of them:

The sentiment, from the Peaceful Moments stamp set, was stamped in Versamark ink on a piece of Basic Black card.  I heat-embossed it, with white embossing powder, and my heat tool, then cut it out using one of the rectangular Picture This Dies.

Using the sweet scalloped border die, from the Penned Flowers Dies, I cut a horizontal strip of Rainbow Glimmer Paper.  This delineates the embossed white background from the panel of dotty (black with white spots) paper, also from the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper pack.  The bow is White Crinkled Seam Binding, coloured using the Light Bermuda Bay Stampin' Blends marker.  As a finishing touch to my card, I added a tiny flower, with a Holiday Rhinestone in the centre.

I just love how this card turned out, despite deviating miles from my original plan.  The Floral Squares Dies are great fun to play with.
