STAMPIN' UP! TEXTURES & FRAMES BIRTHDAY CARD

 The Textures & Frames stamp set is one of the freebies you can choose, if you place a $90+ Stampin' Up! order before the end of September.  These are the images in the stamp set:

I came across a fantastic idea, for using a couple of these stamps, the other day.  All credit to Annette Elias for the background design - what a lot of fun I had, creating it!  I'm not sure if I have done it exactly as Annette showed, as her spoken instructions are in Dutch, and I failed to take notes along the way - so, by the end of the video, I couldn't quite remember how the steps went!

To create the main panel on my card, I started with a piece of Basic White card.  I stamped the open irregular rectangles in Basic Gray ink, and the colours I used with the "blobby" stamp, to fill in the rectangles, were Gray Granite, Pacific Point, Balmy Blue and Mint Macaron.  When I had finished all the background stamping, I used a Blending Brush to add Balmy Blue ink around the edges, and across most of the remaining white space.

The art piece was attached to a layer of Pacific Point card.  I decorated the front with Stitched Stars in Gray Granite and Mint Macaron, adding some Brushed Metallic Dots to finish.

The sentiment, from the Happiest Of Birthdays stamp set, was stamped in Gray Granite ink on Basic White card.  I used a Tasteful Labels Die to cut it out, and while the card was still inside the die, I "drew" around the inner edge of the die with the stylus end of my Take Your Pick tool to add some more detail.

The Gray Granite card base is a little dark to write clearly in, so I added a Basic White layer inside.  Some more stars, die cut from Gray Granite card using a Stitched Stars die and then snipped to reduce the size, were added as a final decoration.
