AWHT COLOUR CREATIONS SHOWCASE - WEEK 9: CHERRY COBBLER

This week's Colour Creations Showcase, hosted by Catherine Proctor, is focussing on Cherry Cobbler, a dark red in Stampin' Up!'s range.  A group of us is using Cherry Cobbler on our projects ... Cathy has a full list on her blog of the participants this week.  Please hop around our blogs, and leave some comments if you are inspired by our creations. :)

I didn't realise until I came to blog this week's card that I have used Butterfly Gala - the same stamp set I used on last week's Colour Creations Showcase!  With lots of new Stampin' Up! products out, I have been challenging myself to use some of my longstanding, less well-loved, stamp sets - Butterfly Gala and Very Versailles being two of them.  I had a lot of fun making this card, and hope you enjoy the end result!

I started off with a panel of Very Vanilla card.  Using a blending brush, I applied Cherry Cobbler ink all over the card, graduating from dark at the top to light at the bottom.  I spritzed some water over the blended ink, to give a mottled effect (that really only shows at the top - but I'm okay with the irregularity!).  Once the water was dry, I placed a Basic Pattern Decorative Mask over the inked panel, and again applied Cherry Cobbler ink using a blending brush.  I like how dark it came out.

I coloured some Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding with my Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends marker.  Holiday Rhinestones added a nice bit of sparkle to finish off the card.

All of the products I used to make this card are available to purchase from my online store.  If you live in Australia, and don't already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I would love for you to shop with me.

Make sure you go to Cathy's blog, to see who else is taking part in the Cherry Cobbler share this week.  I am really enjoying working my way through Stampin' Up!'s colour range, with some of my friends, and I hope we're inspiring you along the way!

  2. I love all the contrasting textures and patterns - your card feels so luxurious. How funny that you used the same embossing paste template as Andrea - this tells me I need to get them out and use them!!
