AWHT COLOUR CREATIONS SHOWCASE - WEEK 6: BUMBLEBEE

Tonight I am taking part in a weekly Colour Creations Showcase with some Stampin' Up! friends.  We are working our way alphabetically through Stampin' Up!'s entire colour range, and tonight are focussing on Bumblebee, a lovely warm yellow.  Bumblebee is one of the five new In Colors, that will remain in our colour collection for two years.

Catherine Proctor co-ordinates this share every week, and has a list on her blog of all participants.  Please make sure you go to Cathy's blog, and "hop" around all of our blogs.  We'd love for you to leave us comments, too, if you enjoy what you see!

I decided on masculine projects for this week's share.  These are the colours I have worked with:

This is the first time I have used the So Much Happy bundle of products, from Stampin' Up!'s new Annual Catalogue.  The dies are awesome (LOVE them already!), and the stamp set contains lots of fun images.  Here's the first card I made:

Doesn't Bumblebee look great with Basic Gray?  I have used Designer Series Papers for the two "star" layers ... a sheet of Bumblebee paper from the World of Good pack, and some Basic Gray cement-look paper from In Good Taste.  Here's a closer look at the faint grid pattern on the Bumblebee paper, on which I stamped little stars in Bumblebee ink:

Because I used a Basic Gray card base, I put some Whisper White card inside, on which to write a message.  I stamped some balloons in Bumblebee ink, and added strings (and a little stamped bow) in Night of Navy ink.

While I had out all the supplies to make my card, I decided to make a second card, reversing the order in which I used the colours.  This second card is definitely more Bumblebee-focussed!  I've used all the same supplies, but changed up my use of the In Color Enamel Dots, and added a couple of silver Metallic Pearls below the sentiment.  I used my Stamparatus to stamp the "birthday" part of the sentiment, as I found I didn't get a dark enough impression with the stamp on a clear block.  I reinked it a couple of times to get this darkness:

I decorated the inside of the card in a similar fashion, stamping the balloons this time in Basic Gray, and adding Night of Navy strings (and tiny bow):

Stampin' Up!'s Adhesive Sheets came in really handy with the fine detailed die cuts on these cards.  They made adhering the bunting and little bows on the balloons (on the card fronts) so much easier and cleaner, than if I'd used my usual go-to Liquid Glue.

I have listed below all the products used to make these cards.  They are available to purchase from my online store, which is open 24/7, and which can be accessed by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.  I would love for you to shop with me, if you live in Australia.

Please be sure to check out everyone else's Bumblebee creations, via Cathy's blog.  I have no doubt you'll get inspired to used this lovely new colour in your crafting!
