STAMPIN' UP! HEART OF CHRISTMAS - WEEK 9

Monday night means it's blog hop time, for a group of us who are Stampin' Up! demonstrators in Australia.  We are sharing ideas for using Stampin' Up! products on Christmas projects, and will continue to do this weekly until mid-December.

Here's my card for this week.  I have used several different products, but the only stamping (the two sentiments) is done with the Christmas to Remember stamp set.

I started off creating the tag, cutting one tag from Basic White card and a second from the gold and white patterned paper from the Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series Paper pack.  I trimmed the paper down, to half the tag size, and adhered it to the front of the Basic White tag.  The sweet star wreath was cut from Gold Foil paper, using a Seasonal Swirls Die, and the gold hole enforcement ring was cut from a Tailor Made Tags Die.  After stamping the sentiment in Real Red ink on a piece of Basic White card, I cut it out using the co-ordinating Seasonal Labels Die.  A Real Red bird was cut using a Beautiful Trees Die.  Isn't the embossed background, created with the Merry Melody 3D embossing folder, just lovely?

I stamped the second sentiment in Versamark ink, on Gold Foil paper, and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder and my heat tool.  After adhering this panel to the card front, I laid some Gold Shimmer Ribbon across the card, and added a Real Red Satin Ribbon bow.

STAMPIN' UP! CARD FEATURING MAGNOLIA 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER

The beautiful Magnolia 3D embossing folder is one item in my craft stash that has been sorely neglected.  I had a lovely time playing with it, and some lovely soft colours, to create this card:

I started out by inserting a piece of Shimmery White card in the embossing folder, and running it through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine.  It gives a beautiful, simply elegant, result.  I then "took to" the flowers and leaves with Stampin' Blends markers, colouring the magnolias in Pale Papaya (with Soft Saffron stamen), and the leaves in Soft Sea Foam.

I added background speckles, stamped using a Forever Fern stamp, in Pale Papaya and Soft Sea Foam ink.

To fill in some of the white space around the edges of the main card panel, I fussy-cut some Soft Sea Foam leaves, from a piece of Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper.

Genial Gems in Pale Papaya add a bit of sparkle to the card.

The sentiment (and tiny heart), stamped in Pale Papaya ink on Shimmery White card, is from Many Happenings.  I used the Messages Die to crop the sentiment and heart.  A few Pale Papaya speckles were stamped on the sentiment die cut, to tie in with the background.
