STAMPIN' UP! PEACEFUL CABIN MASCULINE BIRTHDAY CARD

When I saw the Stampin' Up! Mini Catalogue that is coming out on 3rd August, top of my list was the Peaceful Cabin stamp set and co-ordinating dies.  It fits perfectly with my love of making masculine cards.

Here's the first of what I'm sure will be many Peaceful Cabin cards to come out of my craft room!

I stamped the cabin in Soft Suede ink on a piece of Crumb Cake card, then die cut it.  I inserted the bottom part of the die cut piece (the "land" in front of the cabin) in the new Timber 3D embossing folder, and ran it through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine.  Next, I used a sponge dauber to rub Crumb Cake ink over the embossed surface, to bring out the texture.

In this photo you can see close-up all the little fence pieces I die cut from In Good Taste Designer Series Paper.  How cute are they?!

This photo gives a clearer look at the die-cut pieces on my card.  I stamped some of the trees in Evening Evergreen ink, on Garden Green card, before using a die that cuts all three trees at once.  The tall, slim, Evening Evergreen trees have some bumpy texture on them - can you see?

The Crumb Cake background panel has been embossed with the Evergreen Forest 3D embossing folder (really, can you ever have too many trees?!).

The sentiment, from the Art Gallery stamp set, was stamped in Soft Suede ink on a scrap of Crumb Cake card.  I used a Floral Gallery Die to cut it out, then snipped off the right-hand end to butt up against the Garden Green card layer.  After sponging the sentiment label with Crumb Cake ink, I added some Brushed Metallic Dots (these could well be my new favourite embellishment), to finish off my card.
