STAMPIN' UP! HEART OF CHRISTMAS - WEEK 3

Tonight I am taking part in a weekly Heart of Christmas blog hop, to showcase some of Stampin' Up!'s beautiful Christmas products.  We'll be doing this weekly until mid-December, so you will have lots of ideas for your Christmas projects.

I am very excited to share with you my first creation using the awesome new Merriest Moments bundle, which will be available to purchase from 3rd August.  (One of the perks of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, is being able to get my hands on new goodies ahead of general release.)  This bundle contains a beautiful stamp set with co-ordinating dies, plus a hybrid 3D embossing folder.  One of the dies fits inside the embossing folder, to allow embossing and die-cutting of an image in one pass through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine.  Here's my first card, of many to come, featuring Merriest Moments:

I started off by die-cutting three of the large leafy frames - one each from Basic White, Pear Pizzazz, and  Mossy Meadow card.  I put each die-cut piece into the embossing folder, and ran them through (one at a time!) my Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine.  (The Crumb Cake layer is the size of die-cut that can be embossed in one pass whilst being cut - I just opted to use it as a plain mat layer on this card.)

After snipping some leaves/sprigs from both the Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadow frames, I adhered the cut pieces on top of the Basic White leafy frame.  Check out the gorgeous embossed detail on the leaves:

Another die in the bundle is a stitched rectangle, that cuts a piece of card to insert in the embossed frame.  I cut a Real Red piece, and white heat-embossed one of the beautiful sentiments from the stamp set.  I stamped a few berry clusters on Basic White card, using Real Red ink, and die cut them to adorn the edges of the frame.  A couple of Wonderful Gems finish off the card.

I am having so much fun using this bundle already.  Come back tomorrow to see what I made with the leftover parts of the Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadow frames.

The next person on tonight's blog hop is Kate Morgan. If you click on the button below, you'll be taken to her blog, to see her lovely Christmas creation.

  1. A really lovely Christmas card! I really like how you've added colour to the basic die cut - I first thought you must have coloured each part with a marker, but I love the idea of snipping apart the die cuts.

I love how you've used these dies, might have to try that idea next.

  7. Beautiful, Christine, I love that background DSP, it reminds me of sparkly stars. The frame is fantastic, how you cut it in different colour cardstock and joined them together rather than colouring with markers (which is what I thought you had done at first)!

  8. Christine, since I saw your comment of FB I have been looking forward to seeing what you would create with this bundle and I am certainly not disappointed. Your card is gorgeous and the 'paper piecing' technique genius. I am now so motivated to break mine open and give it a whirl.

  9. That’s a stunning card Christine and the different layers individually cut really stand out against the Crumb Cake layer. I love the greeting text in white against the red card stock.
