STAMPIN' UP! TROPICAL WEDDING CARD

I was about to go to bed the other night, when I was hit with the sudden inspiration to make a wedding card for a beach wedding.  I don't know why; I certainly don't know anyone planning to get married on a beach!  However, I couldn't sleep until I put my vision to paper ... and I love how it turned out.  I have used the retiring Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper, and my seldom-used Stitched Be Mine dies.

I adhered the floral paper, and the Pear Pizzazz textured-look piece, to the panel of Grapefruit Grove card.  I then used the sweet rectangular die from Nature's Thoughts to cut out a panel - and a second one in Grapefruit Grove.  I glued the two panels together, wrapped some narrow grosgrain ribbon around, then stuck the rectangle back into the negative space.  The added layer of cardstock lifts it up just enough to give a bit of dimension, without bulk.

The sentiment is from the Last A Lifetime set; I white-embossed it on Old Olive card, then cut it out using a Stitched Rectangle die.  Because the die was not as narrow (in depth, not width) as I wanted it, I then laid the die across the strip of card, and cut it again, both above and below the sentiment.  I hope this makes sense!  It gave me a nice shallow rectangle to perfectly frame the sentiment.

One of the dies from Stitched Be Mine cuts a stitched scalloped-edge heart, with the heart inside it cut separately.  After cutting it from Very Vanilla card, I embossed the inner heart with the Coastal Weave embossing folder - which, along with the DSP, ribbon, and all things Grapefruit Grove, will retire on 2nd June.

Listed below are all the products I used to make this card.  If you would like to buy them for yourself, and you live in Australia, I would love for you to shop with me (if you don't already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator).  You can access my online store 24/7, by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.
