STAMPIN' UP! SYMPATHY CARD IN LOST LAGOON

For this week's blog hop, we (all Stampin' Up! demonstrators in Australia) are sharing projects featuring Lost Lagoon, a beautiful bluish-green in Stampin' Up!'s colour range.

I have teamed Lost Lagoon with Pool Party and Basic White, to create a sympathy card with a leafy theme.

How beautiful is that patterned paper, from the Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper pack?

I stamped the sentiment, from the Hope You Know stamp set, in Lost Lagoon ink on Basic White card.  One of the Scalloped Contours Dies was used to cut it out.

To the top of the panel of DSP, I added a Basic White piece of card that had been embossed using the Fern 3D embossing folder.  A strip of Pool Party card, die-cut with a long edge of a Scalloped Contours Die, was added as a border before adhering this piece to the background.

I used a Gorgeous Garden Die to cut some Lost Lagoon Soft Shimmer Paper (I am hoping you can see it glisten a little in this close-up picture).  Using paper snips, I cut out just the leaves I wanted to use on my card.  I'd applied Adhesive Sheet to the back of the Shimmer Paper before cutting, so the leafy sprays were easy and clean to add to my card, once I'd peeled off the backing paper.  A bow made from Pool Party Grosgrain Ribbon, and some Lost Lagoon Tinsel Gems and Iridescent Pearls, finish off my card.

Next up on tonight's blog hop is Rachel Woollard:

  3. How clever to cut the leaves from the Gorgeous Garden dies from that Shimmer Paper, Christine. The dry embossed panel at the top is perfect behind the diecut leaves. It is a lovely soft, serene card, perfect for a sympathy card.

  4. A beautiful, soft and sensitive sympathy card Christine. I love the combination of various elements - the fern embossing, the scalloped trim and the DSP behind the Shimmer Paper die cut leaves. So beautiful. xxx

  5. Leaves always seem to offer some comfort in a time of loss, so are always suitable for this type of card. I love the way you've used the fern embossing folder with the lovely DSP, such a thoughtful verse and the branch of leaves.
