STAMPIN' UP! MERRIEST TREES CHRISTMAS CARD IN GRANNY APPLE GREEN

The card I'm sharing today was made with this week's Colour Creations blog hop in mind.  I'd come up with this bright colour combo, for a Christmas card ....

... and made a card that I thought I'd use, but it didn't quite make the cut!  This card is a good example of why I shouldn't craft sitting down.  I normally stand, to assemble my cards, as clearly my head is on a little crooked!  The Christmas tree and frame are on a distinct left lean.  However, if you can look past that, hopefully you'll enjoy seeing the design. :)

I used the Deckled Rectangles Dies to cut a few apertures on this card.  Firstly, I used two of the dies together, to create a Basic White frame (that I then embossed with the cross-hatch patterned Basics 3D embossing folder).  I then cut a Deckled Rectangle piece out of the middle of my larger panel of Granny Apple Green card (before embossing this larger piece). I cut the same sized Deckled Rectangle from the Poppy Parade mat at the back, as I wanted the Basic White card base to show through.  I hope this all makes sense!

The Granny Apple Green Deckled Rectangle was then die-cut using two of the leafy dies from the Christmas Classics Dies.  They are fairly small, thin, dies.  I lay the two next to one another on the cardstock, before running through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.  I moved them across, and cut again, repeating the process until the entire piece of Granny Apple Green card had die-cut detail.

The sentiment was white heat-embossed on Poppy Parade card, and cropped with a Deckled Rectangles Die.  I ran it through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine twice, moving the sentiment label, so I could create a narrower die-cut piece.

The Christmas tree was created with Granny Apple Green DSP, from the Brights 6"x6" collection, and four of the tree dies from Merriest Trees Dies.  I used a Blending Brush to add Granny Apple Green ink to the DSP, as I wanted a tone-on-tone look rather than stark white patterns.

The bow was stamped in Poppy Parade ink, and the tree trunk in Pecan Pie ink, before being die-cut.

Iridescent Adhesive-Backed Discs in white and Granny Apple Green were added as a finishing touch.
