Today's card is a reject from my creative session for this week's Coastal Cabana Colour Creations blog hop. I really like some of the cute elements on this card, but don't love the card ... in fact, I nearly binned it. However, I have learnt over the years that some of my least favourite cards still provide a bit of inspiration for others, so I decided to share it.
I have teamed Coastal Cabana with Melon Mambo and Pool Party.
On my Thick White card base, I adhered a layer of Coastal Cabana card. The bottom quarter of this panel has been stamped with little flowers in Coastal Cabana ink and dots in Pool Party ink. After cutting a piece of Coastal Cabana heart-patterned DSP, I glued underneath it a strip of Melon Mambo card that I'd torn the edge of, and a strip of Pool Party card also torn along the long edge.
Once these pieces (and the white top panel) were glued down, I added two ribbons layered - Pool Party Grosgrain Ribbon, with Silver & White Sheer Ribbon (coming out on 6th September) over the top. I made a bow with the same two ribbons, and adhered that with (lots of) glue dots.
The sentiment is stamped in Coastal Cabana and Melon Mambo inks, on Basic White card, and cut with a Deckled Circles Die. A slightly larger Coastal Cabana Deckled Circles die-cut, embossed with the Timber 3D embossing folder, is behind it. I sponged Coastal Cabana ink around the edges of the larger circle. The Deckled Circles Dies, and the Iridescent Adhesive-Backed Discs I've used as embellishments, are coming out on 6th September in the new Stampin' Up! Mini Catalogue.
Listed below are all the current Stampin' Up! products used on this card. I can't yet link to the new products, that will be released on 6th September, but you might like to add them to your wishlist!
