HOC WEEK 6: STAMPIN' UP! JOY TO YOU & BIRD'S EYE VIEW CHRISTMAS CARD

The card I'm sharing for this week's Heart Of Christmas blog hop was created with two of my current favourite stamp sets.  As you may already know, I love the Bird's Eye View stamp set.  I've paired it with a new, fabulous, Christmas sentiment set called Joy To You.

Add to this, three designs of One Horse Open Sleigh DSP, a favourite colour combination, and some sparkly sequins, and the result is a card that I just love!

I stamped the chubby bird on a piece of the woodgrain-look paper (as shown in the background), using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  After colouring the bird using Stampin' Blends markers in Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie and Real Red, I fussy-cut it out of the paper.

On the background paper I'd stamped the branch in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and coloured it using Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends.  I sat the cut-out bird on top of the branch.

Check out those gorgeous Adhesive-Backed Glitter Sequins!  I love a bit of sparkle on an otherwise rustic-looking card.

The teensy ornaments were stamped and die-cut using the Merriest Trees bundle.  I used Pecan Pie and Real Red inks for the baubles, and attached them to the branch using glue dots.

On a piece of Real Red patterned paper from the One Horse Open Sleigh DSP pack, I white heat-embossed the sentiment.  I gently sponged the edges of this paper with Real Red ink, and added a couple more Adhesive-Backed Glitter Sequins for good measure.

  7. Christine this card made me smile. I love everything about it because it is just so you. The colour palette, the embossed greeting, the BOW, the design and a bit of bling to finish. I have really, really been trying to avoid ordering these cute birds because they don't have matching dies, but I know that resistance is futile. I think the little decoration along the branch are just glorious.
