Monday nights, until late November, are Heart of Christmas blog hop nights. A group of us, all Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around Australia, is sharing Christmas projects using Stampin' Up! products, in the hope that we'll inspire your Christmas crafting.
The Boughs of Holly Designer Series Paper pack contains so many beautiful designs. I've used two of the patterned papers on my card(s) this week. The gorgeous tree-filled paper inspired me to ink up some Christmas trees from the Trees For Sale stamp set. I have cut them out using the co-ordinating Tree Lot Dies, which are FREE until the end of August, if you order $180+ of Stampin' Up! catalogue product.
I stamped one each of the three different-sized trees on Basic White card. The solid tree images were stamped in Soft Succulent ink, and the darker layer was stamped over the top in Evening Evergreen ink. I tucked a Stylish Shapes circle, die-cut from vellum, behind the trees, and added a gold metallic paper star, cut using a die from the Tree Lot Die set.
One of my favourite parts of this card is the bow, made from Soft Succulent Satin Shimmer Ribbon. It's beautiful ribbon, don't you think?
The sentiment, from Trees For Sale, was stamped in Evening Evergreen ink on a strip of Basic White card cut to the width of the DSP panels on my card front. A couple of gold festive pearls were added to finish off. To complement the gold star, I added a thin strip of the same gold metallic paper at the bottom of the striped DSP layer.
In keeping with my 2022 resolve to make two cards each time I create a Christmas card, I made a second card, with a few small changes. Instead of a Thick Basic White card base, I used Soft Succulent card for the base, and added an Evening Evergreen layer under the Boughs of Holly Designer Series Paper.
Inside this card, I added a Basic White card panel, on which I stamped the largest of the three trees:

Both your cards are gorgeous, Christine, however I think I slightly prefer the second card with the Soft Succulent card base. The gold festive pearls are the perfect embellishments for your sentiment!
ReplyDeleteI love Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen together, and your addition of the gold features lift it to next level stunning! A gorgeous pair of cards.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love these stamped trees with the Boroughs of Holly DSP. The star from the Gold Glimmer looks lovely,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Christine. What I love most about this is that you have chosen Gold Metallic Paper, instead of Gold Foil Card. I think the gold foil is too bright and brassy and would have detracted attention away from the lovely soft imagery and bow. Your choice of the Metallic paper works so well with the more rustic, country style images. Very nicely done!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pair rod cards Christine and the gold pearls, strip and star complement the greens in your Christmas trees. The luscious satin ribbon adds elegance to your cards.
ReplyDeleteA lovely pair of cards Christine. Great use of DSP and stamping with lovely colour coordination. I love all your layers - especially the vellum circle behind the stamped trees. Xxx
ReplyDeleteThis is a favourite combo of mine this Christmas time I must admit! Love your card! that gorgeous paper and the Lots of trees is lovely together and I love the vellum and the gold star! That soft succulent ribbon is so gorgeous! Beautiful card Christine!
ReplyDeleteA couple of beautiful cards Christine. I agree that paper is just so pretty and makes creating easier. My preference is the first card as I like how the Basic White coordinates with the tree outline and the sentiment panel. And yes as always your bows are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards Christine. I love the addition of the gold touches and you are correct, that Soft Succulent shimmery bow is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work, Christine. You make the most gorgeous bows and this one is stunning, standing pride of place in the centre of your card. I love the vellum circle and those trees in the two greens are perfect.
ReplyDeleteYour beautiful card just ooze’s with Christmas charm, Christine. I love it! The one line sentiment is a perfect choice. A gold star, and a touch of vellum softness add such a lovely warmth. Caroline.
