STAMPIN' UP! ABIGAIL ROSE CARD IN EARLY ESPRESSO

The colour we're focussing on, for this week's Colour Creations blog hop, is Early Espresso.  This beautiful dark brown is a favourite of mine, for masculine cards ... but I've gone in a different direction today.  I've had a play with one of the beautiful Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper sheets.  It has an Early Espresso, scripty, background with white tulips all over.  I used Stampin' Blends markers, to colour the flowers in Petal Pink, and the stems and leaves in Crumb Cake.

After colouring the DSP panel, I adhered it to an Early Espresso mat, and a Petal Pink card base.

The sentiment, from Go To Greetings, was white heat-embossed on Early Espresso card, and cut with a Seasonal Labels Die.  I embossed a strip of vellum with an Elegant Eucalyptus 3D embossing folder, and stuck it onto a piece of Basic White card that has a scalloped border thanks to a Penned Flowers Die.  A couple of Petal Pink Solid Faceted Gems, and a bow made from Early Espresso Faux Suede Ribbon, were my embellishments of choice.

I painted over the tulips with clear Wink of Stella ... if you squint a bit, I think you can see the very subtle glimmer in this photo!

HEART OF CHRISTMAS WEEK 9: STAMPIN' UP! MERRIEST MOMENTS

Monday nights are Heart of Christmas blog hop nights.  Until the end of November, a group of us (all Stampin' Up! demonstrators in Australia) is sharing ideas for using Stampin' Up! products for your Christmas crafting.

For my card this week, I've pulled out an old favourite bundle, Merriest Moments, and put a "rustic glam" spin on it.  I love the earthy tones in this particular design in the Boughs of Holly Designer Series Paper pack.  I've used Sahara Sand, Soft Suede and white, along with pops of red (Real Red for the berries, ad Cherry Cobbler for the poinsettias) and touches of gold.

After sponging the edges of the DSP panel, with Sahara Sand ink, I adhered it to a piece of Sahara Sand card.  These layers were stuck onto a Thick Basic White card base.

From Thick Basic White card, I die cut the Merriest Frames Hybrid embossing folder piece - embossing and cutting out in one pass through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine.  I cut the inner stitched rectangle, for the sentiment, from Basic White card, and gold heat-embossed the sentiment on it.

The poinsettias were stamped in Cherry Cobbler (and Sahara Sand for the flower centres), the holly leaves in Soft Suede, and the other foliage (mistletoe, isn't it?) in Sahara Sand.  A cluster of holly berries was stamped in Real Red, before all stamped pieces were die cut using the co-ordinating dies.

Festive Pearls, in red and gold, worked nicely as the embellishments on this card:

Here's a slightly better angle of the gold-embossed sentiment, so you can see the lovely shine:

A couple of tiny poinsettias, cut from Distressed Gold paper, were added, to finish off.
