AWHT COLOUR CREATIONS SHOWCASE - WEEK 33: PEAR PIZZAZZ

Tonight I am taking part, with friends from around Australia in the Art With Heart Stampin' Up! team, in a Colour Creations Showcase.  Each week we focus on a Stampin' Up! colour, working our way through the range in alphabetical order.  This week's star of the show is Pear Pizzazz.

Cathy Proctor co-ordinates our weekly showcases, and has a comprehensive list on her blog of all the participants.  We would love it if you checked out all our blog posts this week, and left some comment love if you felt so inclined.

My card features one of the stamp sets you can earn for free during Sale-A-Bration (which runs until the end of February).  If you spend $180 on product, you can earn A Touch of Ink for FREE ... and it's beautiful!  I have a thing for hummingbirds, so this set was a "must have" for me.

I stamped the hummingbird outline in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, on a piece of Whisper White card.  I stamped the solid "fill in" stamp in Pear Pizzazz ink, stamped off once onto scrap paper to give a light impression.  After adding some purple to my bird, with Purple Posy and Highland Heather Stampin' Blends markers, I again stamped the solid image in Pear Pizzazz, to give more depth of colour ... after all, Pear Pizzazz is the colour we're focussing on here!  I added some more purple to the feathers and face of my hummingbird, then stamped over the top of my coloured image again in Pear Pizzazz.  This time I stamped full strength, because the previous layers were a bit pale.  Once I was happy with the colour, I fussy cut the hummingbird, and added Wink of Stella.

The Whisper White panel on which the images are stamped was cut with a scalloped stitched rectangle, from the Stitched So Sweetly die collection.  I stamped the leaves (both outline and solid fill-in stamps) in Pear Pizzazz ink.  The flowers, stamped off the top right-hand edge, were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and Highland Heather ink.

In the top left-hand corner of the scalloped rectangle, I added a couple of Pear Pizzazz leaves cut using Perennial Petals dies.  They're anchored with a Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding bow.  Tucked behind the scalloped rectange panel is a Pear Pizzazz piece cut with the Flowering Vines dies.  The layers were added to a Whisper White panel than had been embossed with the Bricks & Mortar 3D embossing folder.

The sentiment, which is also from A Touch of Ink, was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on a scrap of Whisper White card.  I cut it out using an Ornate Frames die.  A few rhinestones finish the card.

Listed below are all the products I used to make this card.  Please note,  the A Touch of Ink stamp set cannot be bought - it can only be earnt for free, with a purchase of $180.  If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.

Make sure you go to Cathy's blog, to find all the links to the blogs of this week's Colour Creations Showcase participants.  I'm sure you will feel inspired to use this lovely green more, after you've seen what my talented team mates have shared.
