STAMPIN' UP! TRUE LOVE BIRTHDAY CARD IN MELON MAMBO

I have had a lovely time colouring a panel of floral paper, from the True Love Designer Series Paper pack, using Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen.

The flowers are coloured in Melon Mambo, with Rich Razzleberry shading, and the leaves in Old Olive.

Rather than embossing the Whisper White panel in the background, I have adhered a number of Wild Rose die cuts, also in Whisper White.  It gives a bit of interesting detail and texture, whilst still being subtle.

The sentiment I've used is from the In Bloom stamp set.  I didn't want the whole greeting, preferring just the Happy Birthday portion, so used washi tape to cover the second line on the rubber stamp.  I inked the stamp in Rich Razzleberry ink, removed the washi tape, and stamped onto a strip of Whisper White card.  A Stitched Rectangle die was used to cut out the sentiment.

Using my Dark Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blends marker, I coloured some Opal Rounds, to create custom-coloured embellishments for my card.  Alcohol-based markers are fantastic for doing this with.  I like to colour ribbon, rhinestones, pearls, resin dots, vellum doilies ... anything, really, that I want to match to my project.

Listed below are all the products I used to make my card.  If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.

Tomorrow I will have another card to share, using some more of the sheet of paper that I coloured in this way.
