Today I am joining with a number of other Stampin' Up! team members, from Claire Daly's Art With Heart team, in a Colour Creations Showcase. Catherine Proctor is co-ordinating this weekly share, and has a list on her blog of all participants. We'd love for you to visit all our blogs, and leave some comment love!
This week's colour of choice, for our projects, is Basic Gray. If you're a regular visitor to my blog, you might know that I love to make masculine cards. Basic Gray immediately made me think of a "guy" card. I chose to combine these Stampin' Up! colours on my project:
Here's my card, which features Geared Up Garage, and co-ordinating Garage Gears dies. The big, bold sentiment is a mix of stamps from Rooted in Nature and Family Party. The Stamparatus came in very handy when it came to placement of the sentiment inside the swirly circle.
To create the textured background, I applied Basic Gray ink to the inside of my Tasteful Texture embossing folder. This can be done by swiping the inkpad direct to the embossing folder, or by brayering ink onto the folder. I then placed a piece of Basic Gray card inside the inked embossing folder, and ran it through my die-cutting and embossing machine.
The panel that looks like it has oil stains on, is a piece of In Good Taste Designer Series Paper, that I've stamped (using the splotchy "oil stain" stamp from Geared Up Garage) in Smoky Slate and Basic Gray inks. I made the splotches a bit darker at the top of the panel, to give the car some grounding.
Stampin' Blends markers allow you to customise all sorts of embellishments. I used my Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends marker to colour some Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets, to add a pop of colour to the bottom third of the card.
Listed below are all the Stampin' Up! products I used to make this card. They are available to purchase from my online store, which can be accessed by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.
Be sure to head to Catherine's blog, to see who else is sharing their Basic Gray creations tonight.
