STAMPIN' UP! LAYERS OF BEAUTY BIRTHDAY CARD IN YELLOWS

Today is my last share, for now, of Layers of Beauty.  I have had fun creating with this bundle, but have only just scratched the surface - I look forward to making lots more cards with these beautiful, fun, products.

The card I'm sharing was actually my first one made, and my first time using masks.  I think it could be improved upon (I was a bit heavy-handed with the layers of colour on the roses), but it's a starting point!  I used only the masks and dies for the gorgeous floral piece, which gives quite a different look to when the outline is also stamped.

The background is a panel of Basic White card, that I coloured by lightly applying Daffodil Delight ink with a Blending Brush.  After embossing it with a Basics 3D embossing folder, I matted it onto a piece of Daffodil Delight card, and a Thick Basic White card base.

Using the masks on Basic White card, I applied Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry inks with Blending Brushes, to colour the flowers.  The leaves were coloured using Granny Apple Green and Old Olive inks.

After colouring and die-cutting the large floral piece, I ran it back through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, in the same Basics 3D embossing folder used for the background.

Some extra foliage was cut from Granny Apple Green card, and tucked behind the floral spray.

Smaller Basic White flowers were cut using Country Flowers Dies.  Glossy Dots were added to the three flower centres.

The sentiment is from the Country Birdhouse stamp set.  I stamped it in Versamark ink on a strip of Granny Apple Green card, and heat-embossed it in white.  My favourite little sentiment banner die from Happy Little Things was used to cut it out.

Listed below are all the products I used to make this card.  If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.
