STAMPIN' UP! COUNTRY BIRDHOUSE CARDS FEATURING BASIC BEIGE

I have been away from home for much of the past two weeks, and have really missed taking part in the last two In Color blog hops.  Tonight I'm back, to join in the Colour Creations blog hop showcasing Basic Beige, the newest addition to Stampin' Up!'s Neutrals range.

To make up for my absence, I have a rather photo-heavy post to share!  I've made two cards using the Country Birdhouse bundle, and beautiful papers from the Country Lace and Country Woods Designer Series Paper packs.  These products were some of my first "must haves" when Stampin' Up!'s new Annual Catalogue came out.

CARD #1:

I used two of the beautiful Country Lace DSPs in Basic Beige for my background.  I sponged the edges of the papers with Basic Beige ink before matting them on a layer of Petal Pink card (and a Basic Beige card base).

The flowers, die-cut from Basic Beige card, have Petal Pink Foiled Gems added to the centres.

The outline of the birdhouse was stamped in Basic Gray ink on a piece of wooden plank patterned  Country Woods DSP, and all the components of the birdhouse were die-cut from papers in the same pack.

I stamped the bird and flowers in Basic Gray ink, on Basic White card, and cut them out using co-ordinating dies.  The flowers were coloured using Petal Pink and Pool Party Stampin' Blends markers.  To colour the bird, I used Ivory, Pool Party and Petal Pink Stampin' Blends markers.  I then picked up ink from my Basic Beige inkpad, using a Blender Pen, to add colour to the bird and leaves.

The sentiment was stamped in Basic Gray ink, directly onto the "wooden" base of the birdhouse.  I sponged Petal Pink ink around this piece before sticking it down.

Because I just can't get enough of these beautiful papers, I added a few strips to the Basic White panel on the inside of the card.

CARD #2:

I've used mostly the same products for my second card, with a few variations.

For this card, I matted the Basic Beige Designer Series Papers on a piece of Basic Gray card, before adding the layers to a Basic Beige card base.  The die-cut flowers are a mix of Basic Beige card, and Country Woods DSP.

The flower centres are adorned with Adhesive-Backed Swirl Dots.

This time I stamped the birdhouse in Basic Gray ink on the DSP with the planks going horizontally, for a slightly different look to on my first card.

After stamping and die-cutting the bird, I coloured it with Ivory, Pool Party and Petal Pink Stampin' Blends markers, then added some Basic Beige ink using my Blender Pen.

The flowers stamped in Basic Gray ink were coloured with Petal Pink and Pool Party Stampin' Blends markers.  I picked up Basic Beige ink from the inkpad, using a Blender Pen, to colour the leaves.

The sentiment was stamped in Basic Gray ink onto the base of the birdhouse.

I decorated the inside of the card with a few strips of DSP, and a couple of leftover flowers die-cut from Country Woods DSP.

Both cards are just beautiful and with all the little details that you do so well such as the use of the different papers in the birdhouse roof and all of those cute little flowers but the cutest element of all if that little bird peeking out of the house in the second card.

  5. GOrgeous soft tonal cards, Christine. Both are lovely and I really must have a play with this bundle over the long weekend. The Country Woods papers help to create the perfect birdhouses and background to your cards.

  10. Christine I love the way you have used the different 'wood' DSPs to construct your birdhouses for your beautiful cards. The use of the different lacey papers behind your birdhouses is just perfect, as are your sweet little birds, which are so beautifully coloured. The cheeky one peeping out through the hole is so cute.
