STAMPIN' UP! LAYERS OF BEAUTY PETAL PINK "JUST FOR YOU" CARD

Layers of Beauty is a surprise favourite product for me, from the new Annual Catalogue from Stampin' Up!.  It's an awesome bundle, consisting of a beautiful stamp set, five masks (stencils) that can be used to colour the main image, and co-ordinating dies.  I have been having a great time playing with this versatile bundle, and look forward to sharing my creations with you.

First up is a card featuring the stamps and dies.  I coloured the stamped image with Stampin' Blends markers.

The Petal Pink background paper is from the Country Lace Designer Series Paper pack.  I sponged the edges with Petal Pink ink, then matted the paper on a slightly larger panel of Calypso Coral card, then a Petal Pink card base.

Here are some of my favourite details on this card.  Firstly, the DSP - how gorgeous??!!  The sentiment was created with the Unbounded Love bundle.  I stamped the words in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a piece of the same DSP as the background.  I then used one of the sweet frame dies to cut it out, also cutting another one from Basic White card.  After sponging the edges of the inner piece with Petal Pink ink, I inlaid it in the white frame.  Once it was stuck down, I added a bow made from Petal Pink Diagonal Trim.

I coloured the roses using Petal Pink Stampin' Blends, and the smaller flowers using Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends.  The leaves were coloured with Old Olive Stampin' Blends.

I did actually use one of the masks in the bundle, to overlay the roses, as I wanted to isolate them to add splatters.  Once I had the mask in place, I flicked ink from my Dark Calypso Coral Stampin' Blends marker onto the flowers.  Using the brush tip against the inside of the lid (held in my other hand), I was able to flick the colour just where I wanted it.

Petal Pink Foiled Gems were added to a couple of flower centres, and the background.

I cut a strip of the Petal Pink DSP used on the front of my card, sponged the edges with Petal Pink ink, then added it to a Basic White panel.  This piece became my card insert, to make writing a message easier than if writing on the coloured card base.

Listed below are all the products I used to make this card.  If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, you can get to my online store by clicking on any of the thumbnail images below.

I'l share more of my Layers of Beauty cards over the coming days.
