STAMPIN' UP! GOOD FEELINGS CARD IN FRESH FREESIA

This week's Colour Creations blog hop is all about Fresh Freesia, a gorgeous pinky-purple in Stampin' Up!'s colour range.  It plays beautifully with blues, so I have chosen this colour combination for my card:

I've used a couple of stamp sets, and a few different dies (as is pretty typical!) to create my card.

Once I'd settled on my colour combination, I chose two papers from the Bright & Beautiful DSP pack.

The Fresh Freesia background is a subtly watercolour-washed patterned paper.  I mounted the heart and flower stamps, from Just My Type, on one acrylic block, and repeatedly stamped them directly onto the DSP, using Fresh Freesia ink.  After sponging the edges of the paper in Fresh Freesia ink, I mounted this panel onto a slightly larger piece of Fresh Freesia card.

The ribbon treatment on my card is Silver & White Sheer Ribbon, coloured with the Dark Fresh Freesia Stampin' Blends marker.

My floral bouquet was created with Around the Bend Dies.  The flowers were cut from Fresh Freesia card.  I used a sponge dauber to add Fresh Freesia ink to the larger flowers' centres, and to the smaller flowers.  The leaves were cut from Boho Blue and Misty Moonlight card.  Some of the flower centres were decorated with Tinsel Gems Three Pack.

The "vase" was created with the Merriest Tree Die that is intended as a Christmas tree pot/skirt.  I cut two from Basic White card, and glued them together, for a little more dimension.

Here's a better photo of the detail on the vase, and a close-up of the lovely glassy gems:

The Misty Moonlight ombre paper was sponged around the edges, with Misty Moonlight ink, before being adhered near the top of the Fresh Freesia panel.

I stamped the sentiment, from Good Feelings, using Misty Moonlight, Boho Blue and Fresh Freesia inks, slightly overlapping the colours so they blended a bit.  After cutting the sentiment out with a Designer Tags Die, I cropped it with my Paper Trimmer, to create a custom shape.  I used my Light Fresh Freesia Stampin' Blends (flicking the brush tip against the lid, held in my other hand) to add splatters to the sentiment label.

Two little hearts were cut from Fresh Freesia card, using Around The Bend Dies.  After sponging the edges of the hearts with Fresh Freesia ink, I added them to the sentiment piece.

Such a beautiful colour combination and the "vase" of flowers is lovely. How inventive of you to use the Christmas tree pot. It took me some time to work out the die you used for the sentiment but now I see it, it was the perfect choice.

  6. So many gorgeous aspects to adore Christine. Your colour combination, your ombré sentiment, your floral arrangement in the delightful pot. Thanks for showing the close up so we could see the embossed detail - so lovely. The coloured ribbon, stamping on the DSP and the delightful embellishments all work together beautifully. xxx
