Monday nights are when a group of us, all Stampin' Up! demonstrators in Australia, share ideas for using Stampin' Up! products in your Christmas crafting.
I have paired the gorgeous Shining Christmas Designer Series Paper with the Christmas Classics bundle, that I'm getting so much use out of this year. The colour combination I've used is Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow and Basic White.
This is a pretty simple card, but there are a few details that I really like.
First up, the ribbon! The strip of Cherry Cobbler DSP used at the top of my card does not have the sheen of the holly print paper. To elevate its sparkle level, I laid over the top of the paper strip some Silver & White Sheer Ribbon, that I'd coloured with the Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends marker. I am in LOVE with the red metallic thread on the edges of the ribbon.
Here's a closer look at the shiny surface of the holly paper, along with a couple of other details I like. When I die-cut the large holly leaves from Mossy Meadow card, I placed the cut-out veins back in their spot, so the leaves stood out a bit more against the detailed pattern underneath.
I die-cut three clusters of berries from Cherry Cobbler card. On one berry from each cluster, I added glue using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen, and left it to dry overnight before adhering the berries to the card.
The sentiment is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink on Basic White card, and cut out using a Christmas Classics label die. I like the subtle embossing of the inner frame on this piece.
