HOC WEEK 10: STAMPIN' UP! CHRISTMAS CLASSICS/SHINING CHRISTMAS

It's Monday night, which means a group of us, all Stampin' Up! demonstrators in Australia, is taking part in a blog hop.  Every Monday night until the end of November we are sharing Christmas projects made with Stampin' Up! products.

This is my first card using the Shining Christmas Designer Series Paper, just released as an Online Exclusive.  I've kept it simple, to allow the shiny elements to take centre stage.  They don't really "shine" in this first photo, but read on to see close ups!

Cute, shiny berries, two ways.  The foiled berries in the paper are so pretty, and this side of the DSP has a lovely sheen to it.

The "berries" added to the die-cut sentiment piece are Adhesive-Backed Glitter Sequins, that I coloured with a Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends marker.  The rough glittered surface of the sequins is not kind to the brush tip of Stampin' Blends; luckily, I had an older marker I could use, that I didn't have to be too careful with.

The sentiment was created with the Christmas Classics bundle.  I die-cut the leafy layer from Basic White card.  Leaving the card in the die after cutting, I used the stylus end of my Take Your Pick tool to trace around the inner edge of the label - this created a subtle border.  After cutting the sentiment label from Cherry Cobbler card, I stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink, and heat-embossed it in white.

I used my Dark Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends marker to colour some Silver & White Sheer Ribbon.

Here's a second card I made, using an alternative sentiment from Christmas Classics:

  1. Two gorgeous cards. The foiled paper is so beautiful. I will have to take another look at it! I love the addition of the coloured sequins to the die cut behind the sentiment.

Lovely cards Christine, you’ve really shown these papers beautifully. That ribbon is gorgeous, I thought I’d missed it then I realised you coloured it. Wonderful bows too

  3. Oh I love how you have coloured both the ribbon and the Glitter Sequins they are so effective. The DSP is beautiful I haven't gotten it yet but I can see the glimmer in your photos. The Christmas Classics Bundle was perfect to go with the DSP! Great card!

Oh two similar cards! That's unique for you lol ;). Don't you love that gorgeous new paper? It's so shiny and bright. I had to say you were game to use a Stampin Blend to colour the sequins so thankfully you had a spare. Great idea to colour the ribbon too as it looks perfect.

  6. That DSP looks very glossy and I’m now probably tempted to get it. Christine I love the white embossed sentiments on both cards and that sheer ribbon looks gorgeous coloured in Mossy Meadow blends marker.

  7. Two gorgeous cards, Christine. I absolutely love the white leafy layer behind the bold Cherry Cobbler greeting. The berries look great too! Great use of this very shiny DSP as well.

  8. Gorgeous cards, Christine. The shine in the SDSP is so pretty and I love how you colour your ribbons to match. The coloured glimmer berries are great, I usually dab with my blends, rather than brushing the colour on to save the tips better.
