STAMPIN' UP! CABIN BIRTHDAY CARD IN GARDEN GREEN

The focus of our projects, for this week's Colour Creations blog hop, is Garden Green.  It features in the Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper, one of the freebies available to earn until tomorrow, with a $90+ Stampin' Up! order. I decided this paper would be ideal on a masculine card.

On my card front, I have used two of the Garden Green patterns, and two of the Sahara Sand patterns, of paper from the Peaceful Prints pack.  One of the Sahara Sand papers is a little hard to see, but the reindeer-patterned paper is behind the cabin die-cut.  I cut the cabin from In Good Taste DSP, and added a piece of Early Espresso Faux Suede Trim below it.  The trees were cut from Garden Green card, and I've sponged the edges with Garden Green ink, before raising them up on Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

To create my sentiment, I die cut the word "happy" from Sahara Sand card, using Christmas Cheer Dies.  The leafy mat layer was cut twice, from Early Espresso card and from Garden Green card.  I adhered the Sahara Sand layer to the Early Espresso layer, then cut off the sprigs.  I then adhered the two layers to the intact Garden Green layer.  The "birthday" component of the sentiment is from the Artistically Inked stamp set, and is stamped in Garden Green ink, on a scrap of Basic White card, then cut using a Hydrangea Die.  The stamp actually says "happy birthday", but I masked off the "happy" with washi tape, inked the stamp, removed the washi, and was able to get just the "birthday" portion to stamp nicely.

My card base, Garden Green, is a little dark to write on, so I added a Basic White panel to the inside.  I decorated it a little, to complement the front of the card:

  7. What a great use of Garden Green. The Woodgrain DSP looks just perfect with the cabin die as do the other papers that you have used to compliment it. The "birthday"sentiment looks just like it was made for that die. Thanks for the explanation
